Stefan,
I really hate to see you miss an opportunity to get some sales from new Kickstarter customers wanting to buy sets here on DF. Is it possible to offer these sets for sale but with the caveat of a later shipping date? You've stated you have the cash now and it's just a matter of getting them made. I'm just trying to be helpful and grow the terrain line I love SO much!

GREAT idea monkplayer! If this next container comes this summer, and you know approximately what sets will be restocked, and since the Dwarven Tiles won't ship until Oct either, then NOW is the time to have them purchasable for shipment at a later date on your web-site. NOW is when people are inspired to buy some additional sets (especially WA 1/2/3 & Fantasy Floors). Kinda like an add-on, but only through the DF web-site?

monkplayer, I'm not going to lie...

This is a GENIUS idea!

Stefan, if possible, this would help throw the DF Kickstarter to EPIC proportions. If you either made pre-orders for restocks on the website, and advertised on the KS, or even made the pre-orders available as add-ons for the KS, it would really be helpful.

@ Stefan

None of us want DF to risk the profit it will make from this Kickstarter, so I'm thinking the safe bet is offer columns, steps, stairs, archways, diagonal walls, circle walls, etc., as add-ons for a additional price (obviously the $120 price point to qualify to add the add-ons). This way all these new investors can see some of DF's other VERY cool items but you don't risk your profits.

You might be able to offer the add-ons for a minimal price over your cost and everyone is also happy with only contributing say $50-75 for 4-5 more items?

The added expense of additional molds versus the existing pledge per set is entirely understandable. A classic secret door? A dead end? A table and benches? I for one personally don't mind small, non-game tiles, knick knacks as stretch goals, though. Bones had familiars and bugs/swarms. Admittedly not as cool as some of the other stretch goals... but it was still a welcome bonus.

This can end up being the largest pre-order extravaganza in Dwarven Forge history. Shipping will always piss people off and prevent some from ordering at all. It is a fact of this niche that DF lives in. You are not going to be able to avoid that. You can bet that many of us will do it anyhow, though. Even if you do need to overshoot the estimated cost.

I am starting to feel bad about bringing up the same topic & suggestions. I hope I am not contributing to any stress by beating this issue into the ground. If so, I wholeheartedly apologize. We, your minions, just really care... and we really want to give you money. ;D

2Stefan

I did send this suggestion already to Jeff - but you are the man to make it happen. I know quite a few people on this boards here are glamoring to get there hands on a pdf of some of your maps.

This could be a great add on / further strech goals. You could even put these half-way in between existing ones.

Building on Biowizards list this could add:

275K - one pdf of a map hand drawn by Stefan

325K - a second pdf of another map

etc.

I think the store allows storage of pdfs. They don't cost shipping. Possibly bandwidth? But this would add something extra for a minimal cost.

Just my suggestion

2all the fans - now it's up to you to bully Stefan to make it happen. I did my part

I PM'd Stefan and Jeff about this yesterday. Apparently there are alternate plans in the works that do not involve the kickstarter. But I think anyone who wanted to see the maps will be happy if those plans come to fruition.

I would like to go on record that (I think) PDFs as stretch goals of KS for physical products are lame.

Well, one PDF I'd be interested in is papercraft!

If the KS doesn't include buildings, I'd like a papercraft PDF I can print out to stick on doors, windows, etc. onto the walls to make stone buildings. See the classic dungeon photos, if you haven't already, for examples of making buildings from these tiles!

This is good news, because I was drawn to the full product listing by the Kickstarter promo and was significantly disappointed by the amount of out-of-stock notices on stuff that I was ready to throw immediate money at.

I've been reassured this is temporary, which is pleasing to me. :)

I realize new molds are very expensive. But I hope Dwarven Forge will consider new Dwarvenite items for a stretch goal. Even if it has to be at the X million mark. Then look at Add-ons you can put as goals between your highest currently planned stretch goal and X+ to get us there.

I say X+ because figure in an emergency/unplanned event cushion. I want this Kickstarter to be a success!

Even if we never make it to that X million mark, knowing its out there will keep us hoping and coming back to the kickstarter page!

I'd guess Stefan's already doing this, but I'd like to see the first Stretch Goals end up as the equivalent of a "buy one set, get one free" offer, rather than adding different items before then. Also, if/when this happens, the Home page should be "cleaned up" to say this.

One reason I didn't participate in the Loka chess set KS was that, when I saw it 3 days before it ended, I had to "add up" all the stretch goals to see what the heck I could get with a pledge level, or even if they achieved their "dream set" (four different sets of Chess sculpts, instead of two) with their Stretch Goals.

Also, since most pledges are for two sets, the "So, if you back us for 5 sets" example should be for two sets.

Buy one set, get 1/2 a set free! Stretch Goals are looking good! (:

I have a sneaking suspicion that we are going to see a stretch goal that adds extra pledge levels (on the $65 per set level.) to make up Dwarvenite Caverns, for a delayed delivery.
