These are just now showing up -- Target has SW ROTS exclusive micro-playsets, they transform from a ship to a playset. They're not that great as toys, but as sets for SWM they are wonderful.

One is the "Invisisble Hand," the ship Grievous takes Palpatine to at the start of the film. It's a plasticy, toy-like item, but with some weathering etc. you could probably whip up a neat crashed debris-like item.

The far cooler item is the Tantive, the Rebel Blockade Runner. It's completely and utterly out of scale, but it still looks COOL. And if you don't think of it as a SW vehicle, but just a generic space ship, there's no saying it's out of scale, really. It looks HUGE, it's about 10" long or so, from the pics I've seen it looks to be roughly the size of a Mechwarrior dropship. Even though the "real" Tantive would have to be insanely large to be in scale with SWM, this one is a perfectly fine industrial ship to add some flavor to a SF game.

Each runs about $20, which for the size and detail is a pretty decent deal.
If you think of them as gaming terrain, it's an outright STEAL.

I'll try to post some pics tonight of these guys against a DF backdrop.

Hehhehe, i didn't see this post the other day, yeah i have been keeping an eye of for these, there is some semi uselfull stuff in them.

I wish the Titanium collection in the later waves with the Tri-Fighter and the Jedi Fighter look good for new Scaled props as well

I wish the rest of the Target Exclusive Micro lines wasn't rehashing the Old stuff, and did oh like the Naboo Fighter, instead of the TIE, AGAIN, or the Sand Crawler... Again...

I would snap them up if they were things we didn't get over and over again..

I saw the "Invisible Hand" at Target the other day....I wasn't too impressed. But I guess it would make good space debris.

I yearn, and yes I mean YEARN, for larger ships/playsets from Hasbro. And not another rehashed X-wing.

Well, it took me awhile (been busy) but here are some pics of the Tantive in a DF setting. Still no room for a full SF setup, unfortunately, so this is just a taste. It doesn't really show off the full hangar, which is made of 2 3x2 pieces and 2 3x3 pieces, but it does give a decent sense of scale.

Hope you enjoy 'em,

I was planning on getting them more for Star Ship combat... might be closer to scale to the old micro machines line individual ships... yeah they are off, but they are at lease better than the ones the same size... :)

The Juggernaut might be close though to mini scale

I was checking the two ships out at Target. I just didn't like the scale on either one.

Played an epic four person 200pt. game on Tuesday. The girlfriend didn't like how long the game took.

Sunday night, she wanted to play SW Minis and was putting together her squad. She wasn't getting what she wanted and asked if we could play above 100pts. I told her to make the squad she wanted and I'd match.

She took a 200pt. squad includind Wat Tambor, giving her 220pts. of Separtists.

I countered with a Jedi Assualt. Yoda, ObiWan, Anakin, Stass Allie, Jedi Guardian, Jedi Knight, a Wookie, and a medic.

I only took out two of her minis. I've never beaten her yet in SW minis. She always sings the Dark Side anthem when she cuts down my last guy.

I picked up the Invisible Hand and the Tantive IV at Target and they're pretty decent ships. However, the scale is way off for the Star Wars miniature game. I think we'll end up using them for the starfighter game, where we use the old Micromachine ships that came out in the 90's (X-Wings, TIEs, etc.). There was another Tantive IV available that was bigger and had electronic sounds (it also came out in the 90's). It looks much better than the new plastic one, which has hinges on the front on back (messing up the details on the engine). I think we'll use this new plastic one as a Corellian transport.

Sort of Off Topic, But... I Finally Had an Opportunity to Sit in on a d20 SW RPG... (I Had Not Played with the New Rules until Then)... Anyway, I Had Rolled up a Twilek Chica For to Game with, but Hated Having to use the Green Stripper/Dancer Mini for my Techie Character... So Remembering some of the Fine Examples offered here in the Past, I Broke out the Exacto and some Super Glue... The Mini Came out Pretty Kewl Actually, Though Getting her "Flying" Tentacles to Lay Flat against her Back Proved Impossible... Several Bowls of Micro Waved Hot Water, and Freezer Trips Later did Get them to At Least "Hang" a Little Better... Next Project is a Jedi Ewok for one of the Other Players...<Chuckle>...
