I was at Origins this weekend and I was fortunate enough to see the huge SciFi layout! I know this sounds absurd, but the picture doesn't do it justice! They had 12 starter sets and 12 corridor sets put together with their own twinkly light cubes and ...drool..drool..drool....... :D

 I tried my best to buy a couple, but they would only sell the whole thing (all 24 sets) for $950. That's a decent discount, but who has that kind of wad to just throw down?

There were some columns and a computer terminal or two. I doubt they came in the sale. The "blinky" cubes looked to be from some kind novelty you might find in Spencer's Gifts.

Roger that... But I Had to ask, I mean I am as Curious about the Accessory Goodies as The Sets themselves... Did They Have any Other "New" Stuff to Preview?

Nothing else that I saw, but I was only looking at the shiny, jolly, happy Sci-Fi sets.

I just recently bought a cavern set--mainly to see what the quality was before I started buying Sci-Fi sets. But, I could also use them in my Star Wars RPG. For that matter, I suppose I could use the dungeon parts, too--for temples and ancient ruins, etc.

Absolutley... I Mostly Play Sci-Fi and the Dungeon Stuff is Very Useful... Really Looking Forward to the "Modern" Set that was Hinted at... You Going to Be Investing in the Star Wars Minis? I am Curious but a Little Concerned that I Will End up with a lot of "Main Characters" and a Lesser Number of Interesting NPC and Generic PC stuff...

Invest? No, I wouldn't say "invest". I will get every single one they put out--multiple copies of most. I swear it on the Moons of Saturn!!!!!!! But, I wouldn't call it an investment. I will never sell them. I will play with them till the plastic is worn down to a shiny nub, or I will pass them on to my son. But "investment"? No.

Was that You Jedi?...

Well Guest,...<Chuckle>... I Understand, I Do not "Collect" D&D Figs either, I Get 'em to play with... So I Suppose my Investment is in terms of Not Kicking myself in the Tuckous ten years from now when WotC are on 8.3 and have Changed the Scale of the Minis or Something, for not having "Invested" in a Useful miniature line when it was available... Si I Feel Similarly about the Star Wars stuff, except that WotC has sort of Hinted that like Every Box will have a Luke Skywalker in it Etc... That would Disturb me...
