I noticed the posting as well, although I was interpreting it as Sept 2009. I seldom recall DF posting day-specific arrival dates so far in advance.

That's only my guess though, so hopefully there will be some official update from DF soon.

I brought this up in the Ask Dwarven Forge section too. It seems like it's going to be restocked sometime within early October from what I've been hearing. I hope so. I desperately need some starter sets. I bought some of the Sci-Fi line but it's really hard to use without the 2x2 floor pieces, walls, and corners. I've started to pick up other lines from DF because I need those too, but for a while I was saving money in hope of buying a bunch of the sci-fi starter set. But I need other sets too so I can't just keep holding out hoping they'll get it in stock soon. We'll see I guess.

I just wanted to say thanks for restocking the Sci-Fi Starter sets.

My 10 sets should be arriving any day now.

BTW,

If sales for the Sci-Fi line pick up at all (due to the starter re-stock), is there any possibilty of another set? Perhaps one with a couple of 6" walls a few extra 2x2 floor pieces and perhaps a couple really cool specialty pieces to round it out.

Just wondering.

What he said. 4" or 6" wall and 2x2 floor sound good to me.

for something more unique I'd like to see a sci fi Catina. something very similar to the modular building set. basically a bar with two tables with a sci fi theme.

what about a 6" wall section that is mostly a clear transparent material? ideal for a ships bridge or a containment room.

I'd like to see a big curved wall section just like the big curved hallway in your beta set but only one wall so if you were looking at it from over head it would look like a quarter of a pie, so you can make large rooms.

that same curved section with a clear transparent window.

a wall unit with a ladder

anyway just some thoughts

I was going to order a bunch of Sci fi starter this month but with the new hellscape deal I think I'll take advantage of that instead and order Sci fi next month. the images "L" posted have me thinking I'd like to get both series.

I'm jumping on the bandwagon too. 6" walls and floors please! And as Ghenghis Ska says in his signature, a DEAD END for Sci Fi Passages please!

My sets: 20x Sci-fi starters, 7x Alpha's, 3x Gamma's, 4x Beta's, 6x Passage; 3x ROTA, 3x ROTA II; and more Dungeon and Caverns sets than I feel like counting (or want my wife counting).

I still have sculptures done that were not released that are really kool additions to the line...it's hurting me that we don't have enough sci-fi gamers out there willing to buy sci-fi scenery from us because I really enjoy designing these things! Lets hope sales warrant releasing this next sci-fi set...perhaps a Limited edition of 600 again may be possible, however we still have loads of the last Set in stock:(

Thanks again Stefan, I always appreciate the feedback.

Would it be possible for DF to announce in the "news" that the starter (and in fact all) of the Sci-Fi sets are currently in stock? Admittedly the Alpha numbers are starting to dwindle, but there would need to be fair amount of sales movement before they're actually sold out.

It's just a thought, as it has been some time since the starter set has been re-stocked and it's availability is not readily apparent unless someone actually clicks upon the item specifically.

Thanks.

Steve

BTW,

I'm actually a new collector of Sci-Fi although my profile states that I'm over 4 years old, (apparently I'm maturing). :/

Stephan,

The only thing really holding me back from purchasing a large quanity of Sci-Fi is the difficulty in building
something with the available pieces. There really needs to be an advanced builder set of some kind that
fills in all the gaps left by the existing sets. Anything that comes out definately needs more walls and
more floor pieces. If you had the 6 inch walls in stock I would order a hoard of Sci-Fi sets right now.
As it is, I would still like to buy some before any of the basics go out of stock but I can't really
pull the trigger and go full boar at them. I love big rooms but I think they would be hard to pull off
without getting a lot of redundant passages if I order more than two Beta sets to go with some
Alpha sets.

On a semi related note I really like how you packaged the Realm of the Ancients 2 set to be
extremely usuable as is. I think I could get away with buying RA2 without even buying the
first Realm of the ancients set if need be. Organizing a set that way makes me incredibly more likely to
purchase as I have an instant room with one box.
