Hi, I'm an Infinity player and I'm looking for doors to complete a sci-fi base

Could you someone take a closer pic of the ones included in the DF set?

Also, are they going to be sold as a single item?

bye!

Hi Michael,

I think there's talk of doing a door set for SF, but it won't be happening any time soon. Still, a basic SF set is comparatively affordable, when you consider all the goodness you get alongside the doors! But, yeah, hopefully there will be single-door offerings (or packs of doors) even before a special "all door" SF set shows up.

Here's a link to a shot of the doors, sadly, without the doors themselves. I took a shot of the frames alone in a setup, and I put a red plastic sheet in one to simulate a force field. I'll see if I can turn up any close-ups of the door with the, you know, actual DOOR in there.

Scanning through the Cool Photos section of the forums looking for SF in the title is a great way to pass the time, btw! So many great pics have been taken of SF setups. I recommend looking for threads started by the guy called Invincible Overloard. Man, his stuff is spectacular.

Anyhoo, here's the shot:

I also wouldn't mind having the SF parts sold as inividual pieces. I really like the SF pillars available in the Alpha Exp set. That piece and the SF stairs/ramp really attracted me to buy the Aplha Exp set. Those SF pillars would be great for hacker terminals for people playing Shadowrun or something like that. Sorry, just thinking out loud.

I'm in with you guys for a doors pack, i even won't mind a
6 Doors pack if its more affordable for DF.

Cause i did a setup yesterday with all my SF stuff
4 Starter, 4 Passage, 3 Alpha, 1 Beta the thing i really lacked was doors.

I needed at least 8 Doors to complete the setup, and wouldn't
mind getting 12 when sold in packs of 6.

We have talked about this before, and I know that not everyone collects all of the different DF set types... But I would pay the typical full set price ($80-$90) for a large door set that included ALL of the different door types produced for each set.

Maybe two to four of each type, plus a few special bonus doors that were unique to the door set itself:

- Old school MM doors. (Or a variation of them).
- Old school MM portcullis. (Again or a variant).
- Narrow doors. (From the narrow passages and Builder sets).
- 2nd generation MM doors. (The narrower ones with the doors attached to the frames).
- DoE doors.
- Sci-Fi doors. (With the force-fields, possibly in a couple of colors)
- MBS doors.

This would be 14 to 28 pieces if the "Old school" stuff were included. But they would be fairly small compared to the larger heavier walls and floors of traditional sets.

Some possible newer options, or to replace the "Old school" stuff if undesirable or impractical to reproduce. these might only have one or two of each:

- MM style "Iron" door.
- MM style "Double-wide" door. (Great to use as the Dungeon entrance).
- DoE style "Double-wide" door.
- Stone "Cavern" door.
- Cavern "Double-wide" door.
- Sci-Fi "Blast-door". (Also Double-wide)
- MBS "Double-wide" door. (Also would make a great entrance).

Maybe 7 to 14 doors total in this "New door" portion of the set.

All together with the "Old school" stuff, were looking at 21 to 42 pieces.

Without the "Old school" styles of doors and portcullis, were talking 17 to 34 pieces. A large set to be sure in terms of piece count, but probably fairly light compared to some of the other stuff like the Cavern sets and so on.

My two Darseks...
