I Have heard that there is a Dragon somewhere in Genisis as well... But Although I Have Read the Bible more than Once i Do not seem to recall it... As to Women, Soft and Slow is Nice too, but I Agree for The Start of an Adventure, Especially a Campaign, BIG brings lots O' Bang to the Buck... Prefereably Something that the Characters will not even be able to Come Close to Figureing out for a Long time...

We are married to 1 inch squares -- which are making a comeback. You could always make the passages out of wall pieces.
Yes, that's cool, but the wall placements are on the inside of the square, not the outside which results in one and a half squares instead of two in a passage.

Having to make the passages out of wall pieces kind of defeats the purpose of buying passage pieces and items doesn't it?

When you think of it, it is more realistic to account for the thickness of dungeon walls that would be around 2' thick on average. Stick to Reaper minis with small bases and it works fine.

Dungeons are mostly underground or in other tight quarters. It makes sense for two guys in full combat gear to feel a little tight in a dungeon hallway. For a big hall, as stated, use wall pieces, this will give you 3" halls (one ince on each side plus a half inch or more where the walls sit).

And don't anybody believe Thor abides by his "rules" all the time...they are more "guidelines," and ones which he only adopted when his players showed up as his house with torches and pitchforks... :D

Crypt King,

I Have to Say that my Favorite use of Passage Pieces is as a Long Passage without a lot of Rooms Opening off of it, and I have plenty to do that... The Advantage to using Walls for Passages is that your Dungeon becomes more compact and thus a "Larger" Dungeon will Fit on my Small (Realative to Some), gaming Table, whilest Too many Corridors lead to Less Dungeon per Inch of Table... So it Could in Fact be Argued that you are Right there is "Little Room"...<Chuckle>... for a Lot of Corridor Pieces... Though I Would like to Buy a Few of the 6" "Long" Corridors just to Have them...

Me, I like lots of corridor having a good sized table. Helps having a gamer wife:) I have 7 long passages and an extra short passage set.

I Have the Short Passage Set, (Which Equalls 30" I Guess, As I Can not remember if that was where I Got one of my Dead Ends)... And the Set with the 4-way, T-junction and the 90 Degree Pieces, Was that the "Room and Passage Set"?... I Really Can not Remember as I Have Rearranged most of My Boxes... And then of Course one of the W.E. Sets had that Really Kewl 6" Passage with the Bricked up Door Way... This Gives me a Fair amount of Passage... AND I Would Love to Have a Really BIG Game Table...

I still keep my DF in the original boxes. I am anal about them I guess. Yeah if I ever build a room just for gaming I will add another table and make it 8'x8'.

I Guess Idealy it would be Nice to Have a Room BIG enough to hold Several Flocked Tables of Different Types of Terrain, Desert, Mountains, Forest, Jungle, Glacial, Barrens Whatever, and Be Able to Go From Table to Table as the Environment Changed... Or at Least Enough Tables that Multiple Levels of Dungeons could be Set up at any given time, or the Village Near the Mysterious Caverns of Evil... Or Whatever...(So Why did they Build a Village Near that Ancient Drow Burial Site any Damn way?)

Sorry this thread dropped off my radar.

Not to be a dick but now I'm to replace my 20 plus year mini collection so I can use Reaper mini's just to use Dwarven Forge pieces to use the 1-inch square they are supposed to have but are cut off by the wall section, and corridor pieces that suffer the same effect. They ask for suggestions for types or whatever, I just want to be able to use my normal 1-inch base, standard mini's with it. My pieces have now become 40 plus sets of resin that sits in my closet, because it takes up too much space and too many pieces to get a 10 foot wide corridor, you know the standard dungeon corridor.

A response that says "just use wall pieces," from employees of the company doesn't do well to 1) make me want to buy more because the issue is trivialized, that I actually want to be able to use the pieces for standard sizes and 2) comes off "hay thanks for picking up those passages and stuff, sorry you can't use them for what they were meant for and all, you should use something else, but hay thanks for the cash."

I love the sets except that flaw, and I have championed their use since they came out.

Crypt King,

I Do Hear ya... Perhaps I have Gotten used to having the Party Deal with being forced into Single File Marching Orders for Fantasy Systems... (Still Use 1/72nd for Modern any way so that is easier for me)... I Guess the Other part for me is that I Have Plenty of the 4"x6" Floors now so they Sandwich Nicely inbetween other Rooms for those extra wide Passages... But I Hate to think that Your Request for a Piece of DF that You would Like to See made available Became somehow Trivialized to you... For myself (No Connection to DF what-so-ever), I was simply Offering my own Solutions to your Question...

I noticed that the Traps I & II pieces have the walls outside of the floor tiles (ie they do not take up half a square). Is this going to be the new format as new pieces/sets a made?

I agree with the poster of this topic that my biggest complaint (to the extent I have never used the 5 sets I own in an actual game) is the fact the walls take up half a square. I have considered two solutions, but have not implimented either.

1) Change the scale to a 2" x 2" DF tile representing a 1" x 1" square. Down side is that this will double the required pieces to make a map section.

2) Mod all of the wall pieces to be on the outside of the floor tiles. The down side to this is that it would be a fair amount of work. (My approach would minimise lost pieces)
