TOPIC: Sewer set thoughts

Re:Sewer set thoughts 1 Year, 4 Months ago
First off, I love this forum and the enthusiasm we all have for DF's work. Second, I love the pictures! I can't believe I missed this thread! I am with Crimson, I feel like I would use a dwarvenite cavern set more often than a sewer set so my vote is cavern KS first!

Anyways, love the work and more pictures if it doesn't get you beaten!

this will probably be the third kickstarter...so we must have patience:)

And so...try not to deplete all your gold pieces on other kickstarters first...

now I must go back to drawing maps for Luke....

This would make a great third KS!

I wonder if we could get you to spill the beans on when about the second KS might be, even if the what was not spilled?

Thraug, there is no grid sculpted on the curved walls and on the canal pieces (later to be covered with clear resin) nor should there be. The 1" wide passageway to be put (or not) between the curved walls and the canals does have the necessary 1" grid pattern sculpted in it or will soon have it for pieces that are still being sculpted.

Since Stefan is considering more and more to be making a Sewer Set in PVC/Dwarvenite, I have a few concerns popping up in my mind. Since PVC/Dwarvenite is slightly flexible, won't the resin cast on it break from it or detach? Also, a great advantage of PVC/Dwarvenite is easy transportation since it seems to be very resistant and it can be put in totes. Won't the clear resin be scratched?

I see a few solutions for that. What jackattack called the "negative space" approach here could be used. Sell the canals separately and allow people to put curved walls and passageways on top of greenish textures to make sewers. Another solution could be sadly not to use resin and paint the inside of canals with a very glossy varnish.

Anyway, this is just speculation as I don't know how well clear resin will attach to PVC nor do I know what are Stefan's master plan.

You know, I like the idea of caverns, and will certainly get some, but these sewers look awesome and I would be down for quite a bit, especially in Dwarvenite. So many cool uses for these in fantasy, modern, and near future gaming. :)

These sewers look like they will be amazing. I can't wait to see them. I hope you make some sewer wicked addition sets as well. I can see lots of interesting things lurking in those sewers.

Is there any chance to have inserts that we can slide into the rounded tunnel openings that look like round grates with crisscross bars over the opening. It would be nice to place them in some of these walls and leave others open.
