Inspiration for a Deluxe Catacombs Set 1 Year, 7 Months ago
I think I have seen different pictures from the bone church (san bernardino alle ossa) in this forum but I'm not sure if these specific pictures where part of that post (sadly I could not find it). To my opinion something like this would be awesome for a Catacombs Deluxe Set or a Catacombs Wicked Addition Set. :)

Wow. I have never seen this before. Macabre yet weirdly beautiful. Thanks for the post Kronos.

Wow, awesome! That's really morbidly beautiful.

I was expecting this post to be about the Sedlec Ossuary, which I'm not sure if people have posted about before. That's a quite famous "bone church" near Prague. It's something to see as well.

(for the curious: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sedlec_Ossuary)

The thing is, this is actually more interesting to me -- the darker browns and the arrangements themselves are somehow ... I don't know, more "attractive"? More austere? I can't put my finger on it, but I prefer this.

And THIS is probably the creepiest comparison I've ever made. ;)

That's the one I meant when I said I had seen seen images like that in our forum. I didn't even realize that was a different church.

So people built several churches all around the world with the bones of the dead as decorations...
That's not weird. Not at all...

One thing that would definitely not be weird but absolutely awesome would be something like the pictures above as a Dwarven Forge Set.That would be pretty epic. Given the recent success of the Catacombs Set I think something like that to compliment the already released Catacombs should also sell very well or am I seeing that to enthusiastic? :)

We used to have a far healthier relationship with death (think scholars with skulls on their bookshelves). Modern society has hidden all of the unpleasant things from us and by doing so they have become taboo. Is it any wonder that as a society we have such a hard time accepting death?

As for creepy churches, when you thing about it most western churches have as their centerpiece a depiction of a brutal murder scene...

Well, you have to have something to look at when you engage in the ritualistic cannibalism of the murder victim.

Now that you both point that out....*can never be unseen*
