As someone who owns no DF, the Catacombs are the set I want the most. I hope they not only do more, but that the first set comes back into stock.

I suppose another neat thing to see would be an iron gate of some kind -- that could look quite cool in the catacombs, almost religious.

And, having recently re-read the Cask of Amontillado, I would love shelves with bottles on them! But since I've been asking for DF bookshelves since 2002 or so and no luck yet, I suppose I won't hold my breath on wine shelves. ;)

Would anybody else be interested in a monsters nest / lair piece made from bones collected from the catacombs? If it was modular to make different sized bone filled nests or lairs that we be even better.

The first teaser of Catacombs2 was revealed a few weeks ago over in this thread...

Catacombs2 Teaser from game at Stefan's place

I'm reposting it here because there just is not enough discussion of it. Maybe people missed this mindblowing teaser!!!

WHOA!

I certainly DID miss this!!!!

So much coolness!

To paraphrase one of my kids' favorite books -- "DF fans, DF fans, what do you see?"

I see:

A cool floor piece with some funky design
A new wall firepit piece (with, apparently, a "secret")
A huge awesome fountain (also apparently, with "secret")
A cool crypt piece
And -- this is a first for DF! -- an "inside corner" piece to plug the gap when you make inverse corners.

VERY NICE!

I'm confused about the outside corner piece. (If you can sit in the corner, it's an inside corner; if you can go around the corner, it's an outside corner.)

Why is it backing onto a 1" piece? What put the 2x2 grid off kilter?

I'd actually got that far myself.

Why is a 1" piece necessary? Is there a 3" piece somewhere in the picture? Did centering the 4x4 glowing skull piece throw things off? Or is there something we aren't seeing in the picture?

I think the explanation is a rather simple one. From what we can see, it's a T-shaped layout. The distance across the "arms" of the T appears to be 16 inches (assuming that it's symmetric) -- an even number. Certainly the width of the trunk of the T is 6 inches -- another even number. However, since 16 - 6 = 10, and 10 / 2 = 5, we have 5 inches on each arm of the T. When working with a template based on 2-inch pieces, that leaves an odd inch on each side.
