TOPIC: Ship/boat set?

Zargon, I haven't read that particular Legends and Lairs book but I have several others. I have picked some good ideas from them for various adventures. This one is probably worth buying on ebay (as they are out of print). I may have to get a copy to round out my collection. I think I am only missing this and one other.

Greetings Acarius,

Yes, I would say it's definitely a great deal for the money. There is a chapter on already designed ships (from basic to exotic), and ship construction My only complaint, as with any Legends and Lairs book is lack of color in their illustrations. As fond as I am of the retro clone feel for these types of products, b/w images are a drawback for a newer publishing company. So since you are only missing this publication and one other, I'm going to say you need this book. haha

By the way, do you have all the hardcover, and all the soft cover Legends and Lairs books except two, or just all but two of the hardcover publications?

I have the hardcovers except for Mythic Races, Seafarer's Handbook, and Sorcery and Steam ( forgot about that one). As for the softcovers, I only have Giant Lore and Elemental Lore. Both are solid books but I have a ton of monster books already so buying more really isn't on the agenda. Thanks for telling me about the chapter on ship construction, that sounds cool and informative. Now I really will pick this one up!

This post really has piqued my interest in adding some ships to my collection. I would gladly support anything Stefan comes up with in this area. My suggestion though would be a Wicked Additions type of set, one that maybe focuses on a dock or harbor theme. That way it could maybe tie in with the Medieval Building and the rest of the classic Dungeon line. I know a lot of this already exists in one form or another but seeing official Dwarven Forge pieces would be awesome!

I'm glad I could help! I too am interested in the addition of a harbor/ dock theme for a ship, having it tie in perfectly with the Medieval Building and any other dungeon set is a superb function as well, good idea.
