Wicked Additions 4 3 Years, 1 Month ago
I recently picked up a couple of Wicked Additions 3 sets, and the combination of cool and useful got me thinking about what I'd like to see in the next WA set.

The gothic windows are terrific, so much so that I hope to see them available as individual pieces someday, or mixed in with other future sets. I would love to see a gothic window corner piece in WA4.

The fire walls are wonderful. I hope that ice walls are on the drawing board, but they might go better with the ice caverns currently under development. So for WA4, I suggest a lightning fence. I favor individual bolts (straight or forked) done as (really narrow, crooked) columns, rather than 2" walls.

I honestly don't know whether I would prefer to see an arch or a fountain in the next WA. So far it's gone arch-fountain-arch, so I guess my vote is for a new fountain to continue the alternating pattern. But here's a thought -- how about a shallow or floor-recessed pool backed by an arch which is filled by a falling sheet of water?

The stairs going up are great. I've been hoping for a piece like this for years, and it's better than I imagined. Would a piece with the stairs going down (like the WA2 piece) be possible? Maybe with a rotating secret door (like another WA2 piece) in the facing wall?

I hope these suggestions aren't too derivative of WA3. Wicked Additions are fun in part because they are creative and random and even surprising.

Anyway, no deadlines or demands, just ideas. Anybody else?

We have not bought WE 3 yet. Hard to see its usefulness for us.

Any reason why not? New doors, prison, great door, windows, wide stairs....love it!

I've got to agree with harneloot here. WA 3 is super useful. I use the double door and staircase all the time.

I don't have that set....yet. It is on the list but I just threw down for a couple DOE sets and the Woodland special preorder. So, it has to wait a bit.
However, I like the ideas of the ice wall or lightning arcs. How about a "water wall"? If it was tall enough we could use it under an elevated cavernous lake piece to create a waterfall!
And I would love to see the stairs in WA3 as single pieces. I would get several.

I like the water wall idea. How about floor pieces to create sewers.

Stefan has mentioned on the forums that he has ideas for a Sewer Set, which would be a new environment. Something dark and wet, as I recall.

Wicked Additions. Random. Individual. Quirky. Useful. Fun.

I agree with Ebonsword, If DF was able to get Many of the Out of stock sets back in stock, that would satify alot of collectors and maybe give DF a boost. But I am sure it is alot more compicated then said. I am sure there is Minimium order amounts needed for each set in order to run a set into production. I wonder if DF created a request list that there collectors could fill out Stating how many sets they are wanting from each set that is out of stock. Get an Idea of the demand for each with out doing a preorder... if the demand is enough then do the preorder for that run.
I just wish I was in the postion to buy anything right now, but atm I just notched another hole in my belt.

Game on.

I have lots of doors from previous sets and I need another archway like a whole in the head. The walls of fire look cheesy at least in the pics to me. I got the wide stairs aftermarket, the only piece I saw really useful. Who has a window in a dungeon? The prison cells have some usefulness I guess but these would need several sets to be of much good. To be honest, I have over sets and my players while they think it looks cool really don't think it is worth the time it takes to set up and take down, especially changing rooms. We use it less than 5 percent of the time anymore and I am the only dm that will use it.

Okay, that's some specific items why you didn't find WA3 useful. I disagree, but everyone uses things differently.

Who has a window in a dungeon? Sometimes you want to divide a room, but still see and hear through/across the partition. A dungeon might be set into a cliffside -- look up "troglodyte architecture". A gallery set above a lower room might have windows to allow those above to view or attack those below. And the windows allow us to create castles and palaces and monasteries and any number of structures, not just dungeons.

I can't speak to how your particular gaming group uses or responds to DF, but I can rephrase the original question: What would you find useful in a future Wicked Additions set?
