Whilst it looks like the focus has been on new environments over the past few years (rivers, Den of Evil, MB, ROTA etc) I think that there is an interest in 'back to basics' filler pieces.

What I'd like to see are:
•A selection of secret doors. Perhaps one that is hinged from the side (rather than the middle) or even from the top, so it pivots up.
•Different pillars and even existing pillars that are broken and curmbled. Imagine a 12 piece pillar set with 6 good pillars, 2 broken ones and a number of pieces to lay about the floor.
•A torture chamber set (rack, iron maiden, stocks etc) along the lines of the Medieval Furniture/Treasure sets.

These type of sets would enhance the existing ranges and allow us to buy 'smaller' sets in between waiting for the bigger ones :)

L-C-L -

There actually is a side-hinged secret door. It's in one of the other sets (I just can't remember off-hand which one). The top-hinged one would be interesting.
You could get a set of pillars and cut them with a band or scroll saw for broken ones, then break the pieces. You may have to paint the ends.
I don't see DF doing a torture chamber set.

In a thread on dungeon cells, Ghenghis Ska mentioned:

Mega Minis has a Gallows, Guillotine, Stocks.
The Old Hero Quest game has a Wrack and a few others
Fenryll has TORTURE ROOM ACCESSORIES, and Torture Equipment
Grendel makes the GOBLIN TORTURERS CHAMBER
Whizkids has some Mage Knight items that work ok from the traps set (a nice cage)

Hope that helps at all for the torture chamber.

The idea of pillars is great!

Having significant, central and ornate pillars would be great with the inclusion of some similar 1/4 corner pillar pieces as well -(for corners, beside thrones or perhaps back-to-back mid way along a wall or beside entrances.

You wouldn't need too many to transform a room. Some possibilities might include:

Dwarf-themed

Dragon-themed

Snake-themed

The possibilities are endless!

I thought about the idea of cutting them yourself but Joe Gamer isn't gonna be arsed to do that and simply lay a full pillar on it's side. Plus, if you screw up, you've got 2 useless bits of resin!

I LOVE the idea of 1/4 or 1/2 pillars as part of the 'set'. This is a way to TOTALLY change any environment without need for a whole new set! It'd also cover up the 'cracks'.

These smaller 'add-ons' are, in MY opinion, the way to go. Sure, bring our 3-4 new SETS per year, but in between add some of these accessories. People are gonna buy 3 sets of pillars and that equates to something like a smaller set anyway :)

Slightly off topic, but I've just been painting Grendel's Torture Chamber and it's a really great four-piece set. Considering this has been around for years, the casting was great! It fits in great with all my DF stuff.

In addition to regular and broken pillars, I'd like to see pillars cut in half vertically, so they can go against the walls of a room or hallway.

That's what I took as weasel's 1/4 pillar idea for corners. 1/2 pillars would be cool too for flush against the wall looks.

I also had a cool idea that could totally and radically change the look of, say dungeon pieces without the need for a brand new set/series it'd mean our dungeon sets could have 2, 3 or more other feels to them for just a few addons more - I'm STILL working on the concept, but will post when it's 'complete' in my head.
