All

I think one of the issues was (if I remember Harnloot right) that there aren't ANY doors available. Therefore some members here actually would be happy to get any doors.

For these there is an offer on E-Bay UK. Someone here in the UK has done his own 'compatible' doors. If you seach on E-Bay UK for Dwarven Forge doors you should get some hits. They come prepainted and should be the right size (both narrow as well as wide available).

I doubt you can open them and they might be one sided - easier to cast - can't tell from the photo but you should better ask. Surely this is not what Monte was after - but I couldn't find the old thread where someone desperately looked for ANY doors. I guess he will be reading this.

I would be interested in either:

A. a set of pairs of different types of doors; or
B. "room decor" sets which contain a pair of doors, an altar or other type of furnishing, etc. which all go together thematically for each set (such as a set with serpent themed doors, serpent altar, etc., or a set with bat themed doors, vampire coffin, etc.)

Actually, one thing I'd really like to see in a door would be a door that is exactly the height of the wall, so the dungeon elements can be stacked with doors as easily as the MBS stuff can.

And, for that matter, I'd like some doors that appear particularly secured in a non-magical fashion -- bars, locks, etc. And some particularly small doors -- not necessarily halfling-sized, but sort of "cellar door"ish. Actually, the new MBS door gave me the idea. Maybe half-doors for the dungeon sets would be a good idea in general, even though the ABS does allow us to place doors in tight corners already....

Philip,

If exterior entry double doors are acceptable, search eBay for yansolo or yansolousa as a seller; he has a set of double doors, with steps (it's like 3 steps up to an entrance, with double doors and a WORKING lantern).
I've got one, and it looks GREAT!

Count me in for a couple of "door sets"...common ones, unusual ones and some very wicked ones! I hope Stefan can pull this one off this year. I need tons of them!

I like L's idea also -- throw some more goodies in with the door set too!

Thanks Monte and everybody,

For all the kool suggestions...I think we could try to do a set of some sort...just not sure wether it would be just doors or if it would be included along with another kind of dungeon set which would have a large amount of doors included in it. Some of the doors I want to come out demand other things to go with them...so it becomes more complicated...

But "just" a few doors seems like a good side project that would sell well enough and is needed by all...

I'm so busy with current projects...I wonder If anyone (particularily in Europe) has any good photographs of castle or dungeon doors ....it would be a great help....never can have enough reference....I wish I could hop on a plane with my digital and make a sweeping castle and dungeon tour of England, France and Germany right now , but it will have to wait...(I'm gonna kidnap Jeff too for a long awaited tour)..............

Really good pics might even get someone a free "door" set, although I make no promises....rather, just a promise to be fair if we get some really kool and useful reference for doors....can anyone help? Please send pics to Jeff if anyone is interested in this.

Thanks!
Stefan

My personal preference would be a MM Doors and Walls Set that would include a variety of different doors and a selection of specialty wall pieces such as:

Stone railings (both straight and curved).
walls with windows
wall with lever
prison wall with chains

and possibly others, (already suggested and mentioned) in earlier threads.

Together, these would make an exceptional set!

I am with the Door and Walls set Idea. It should be some kind of Fantasy Wicked Additions 3, based on standard pieces with "extras" wall + lever, Dungeon Door with hole with iron bars, magic door, deluxe door, double door.

Anyway, other good idea would be to develop a small set only with doors, one of every model, with, for example, 10 doors. This way we could take several sets, depending on the number of door of every model we want to have, and not forcing us to have the same number of wall pieces.

Maybe a "Dungeon/Prison" set. You could have:

Normal Doors for going in & out
Barred Doors for thee standard cell door
New Secret Doors for the nobles escape route
Iron Doors for those nasty prisoners
Oubliette floor tile (barred floor piece)
Destroyed/crumbled wall

Maybe even throw in some torture/scenery pieces:

Iron Maiden
Walls with chains
Rack
Boiling Liguid floor piece

Hopefully, the next MM set (after the upcoming one) could be more like a Fantasy Doors and Walls Set.

That way we could see most of these ideas realised in just one speciality accessory-type set.

No harm in enquiring.

Well actually what I was asking was the width of the door. If the scale holds true the original doors that come with the Room and Passage set of the Classic DF items would be a 10 foot wide door. The doors that come with the Narrow Passage set is 5 foot wide which is closer to what a real door.

That was my true point in posting the new section. Yet to get a thought on that though.
