Here's one reason to consider the Wicked sets before the cavern set:
You already have room pieces. The cavernous pieces can be used "with" the room pieces in the sense that they fit together, but at the end of the day you're still gonna have empty rooms.

With the wicked pieces, you can make the rooms infinitely more interesting. After that, then you can add caverns to the mix.

At the same time, I gotta say: it's all amazing. I myself had no willpower, and picked up everything really quickly once I got started.

After all is said and done, They are all great sets.

I wouldn't really recomend the master builder set until you have filled in your more basic sets.

I'm still favoring the caverns. Gives you 2 totaly different "environments" to place your PCs. Dungeon and Cave. The two Wik-ed allow you to make much more interesting dungeons.

Your going to want all of these. Which to get first??? Tough call

Well, I got lucky and found a box of Narrow Passages at the local store, so I picked it up. And I ordered the Cavern :)
I actually really like the narrow passages, if only because it makes the game more cramped. Oh, and seeing a horde of zombies down the hall and knowing only 1PC can get in contact with them has a lot of potential too. Now, to paint them zombies!

As another question for you guys, is the Curved Walls and Passages set any good? It seems fairly useful, but a bit too expensive for what's included in the box... The reason I ask is that the store's got one left, at 15% off...

Waiting for the cavern,

Curved walls and passages. 15% off.. hmmmmm

I would pass on it. You need so much other stuff. It's a good set for making curves. There are just so many "more" useful sets you will want. But don't you still need:

Cavernous passages, Wicked 1 & 2 ?

What do you own now?

You will be happy with the caverns

I would pick it up myself as it is no longer available. While others may be more interesting, they are going to be there later. FYI, the Master Builders set is I believe now called Advanced Builder. I don't know if there is any change between them as I never saw the original.

Oh yea, It is discontinued!!! :o (I knew that) doooh...

That may sway the call. But not if this guy was only planning to get one more set total.

Advanced builder - Master Builder I can never remember. I can also never remember which Wicked ed has the Fountain and which has devil portal!!!

Hey look you can click and go back to the web-site now!! It just popped up there. :P

If you want big rooms, WA2 is perfect. the 2 6-inch square floors make huge halls easy, and the 6-inch walls are also very handy.

I picked up a 25-piece set of diagonal walls a year or two ago - it was much better for me than getting the Octogonal room set, since I really didn't need more walls and floors at the time, and I ended up with more diagonal pieces. Haven't seen it for sale recently, though, so it may have been discontinued.

I've got 2 cavern sets, but still feel like I'm limited on occasion - also picked up 2 cavernous passage sets, as well... I love em, but I think I still need another cavern set. I've been holding out, hoping that there will eventually be a cavernous river/lake set.

Shoe, I'm in the same boat 2 each of Caverns & Passages. Waiting for water sets to expand these. I just love mixing the two sets together.

Might make some of my own.......hhhmmmmm?

Howdy, I'm new to the site and this thread was very informative. Planning on purchasing a few sets soon and reading this helped me tremendously in deciding the order in which I'd like to get them. So I wanted to say thanks! Keep up the discussion!
