H.R. Giger's work is excellent inspiration for a setting full of dread, suitable for a temple of chaos, or the lair of a demon. WotC artist Michael Phillippi had some of this in mind (and a film series we all know) when he painted this piece for Complete Adventurer.

I think this would be awesome terrain for gaming. I showed this to Stefan at GenCon, and I hope that it gives him some ideas.

OH NO!

Kradlo!!

Gee, thanks! NOW I know where Stefan got the ideas for the DoE WA; As IF he needed any HELP creeping me out!
Man, I will NEVER be able to open that box after 9 PM; it'll keep me up all night, just like Stephen King did with IT the first time I read it! Freaky story, and DoE is quickly getting to be the same way.

I might as well just quit my day job with the State, buecause they are NOT going to appreciate me falling asleep at my desk every day. Won't be able to sleep at night, the damn nightmares from the DoE set are going to keep me scared to sleep!

Kradlo, why you gotta pick on an old man? Why can't you go harass some young-blood stud who thinks he's invulnerable?

I guess you'd like me to shut up and stop whining now, wouldn't you? Don't feel bad, Sandy's been telling me the same thing for years, now; "Shut UP! and quit your whining; just go to work."

Not really, but it makes a good story.

Giger and Phillippi; what a pair of geniuses! And pretty soon, we'll get the art world to add our own Stefan to the list!

See ya!

Yeah, I definitely agree with you Kradlo on Giger's work -- very cool atmosphere in our fantasy dungeon settings...and as proven in that well-known film series, pretty cool for SCI-FI as well.

I can't wait to see what Stefan cooks up next! The wife tells me that I still have plenty of funds yet to spend this year. Maybe DF will surprise us with something MORE bfore the year is out.
