Program for laying out MasterMaze pieces? 8 Years, 2 Months ago
Hello All,

First time posting here, but as I can see from the many other posts I am among fellow addicts (I own several sets of everything). I've always been curious though whether someone has come up with a program to lay out dungeons; perhaps with drag and drop icons or such.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance!

Check out the TileSystem software, which can be found in several links here in the forums. I don't have a link handy right this second (I'll have to go looking for mine) but it's a VERY good system.
Right now, LoneStarr and pfworks haven't gotten the photo versions of the rivers and lakes up yet, and the MBS set isn't even posted as drawings, but caverns, MM, and Sci-fi are available at least as drawings. As LoneStarr gets time and sets, he puts together photo packages of the sets and posts them. Pfworks does the drawings for each DF set.
CRasterImage did the actual programming for TileSystem, and let me tell you, as a half-way programmer myself (I do databases in MS Access, working on SQL Server), he is one GENIUS! And the fact that TileSystem has been provided FREE is just the capstone on his work.

Let me go find the link and then I can edit this post.

Okay, here's the link (hope it works!):

http://members.cox.net/shawnriordan/tilesystem.htm

That should take you to the software. I still have to go find the link for the custom tile sets from pfworks and LoneStarr. Once I have them, I'll put them below this section.

Okay, back again, and here's the link to LoneStarr's page. It's in German and English, so don't panic; it's easier for us "igerant 'Murcans to unnerstan" than you may think.

LS also has the total package listed there, so that gives you multiple spots to get the software AND the tilesets - and you DO need both to use it!

See ya!

Hey Jim,

Huge help and many thanks. The latter link did not work but gave me enough information to find the place. The home link for the Master Maze software is:

www.muinimula.de/Muini/de/2nd/
tools/mastermaze/Mastermaze.html

You have to combine the links above as the forum abbreviates the link.

Again thanks

I was afraid the ellipsis (...) was going to screw up the works.
Internet Explorer strikes again! Although it usually works fine for surfing.

Glad you were able to find what you need. Here's hoping pfworks and LoneStarr are able to get the new tilesets up quickly (I have a 4-level setup that is CRYING for maps!).

See ya!

I just got my MBS and I also finished the rivers. The MBS shouldn't be too hard to do, as it's all nice and geometrical. I just did the floor and it looks pretty good.

The program does not contain either the River or the MBS set. And the cavernous lake is DRawing only.
Where can we get the full version ?

I haven't made the XML for the MBS set yet. When I get my DOE wicked set, I'm going to draw them up and make the xml for that and the MBS. I don't do the photos, so I can't speak to that.

However, the rivers should be there as drawings.

As for the full version... you have it. 8-)

LoneStarr usually does the photo sets; unfortunately, IIRC, he is on a sabbatical of some sort, possibly to keep his employment, so we are at a standstill for photo sets until someone here gets both the skills and the time/inclination to fill in for him.
SOMEwhere here on the forums is a description, by LS, of what settings he uses to do the photos. I just don't remember where.

See ya!
