Hey Jeff,

Now that the world will soon be in the know, any chance of sharing with the loyal forum members. Not that we would drop by the FLGS to check it out on our own.

I'm going to suggest that no forum member actually reveal the particulars of the Mystery Set. Believe me, I'm as curious as anyone (okay, maybe not as curious as arsthein :) ) but I also don't want anyone to steal Jeff's and Stefan's thunder. The unveiling is one of the best moments for an artist and/or businessman, and I'd hate to reduce their enjoyment of sharing their new creations with us for the first time.

I also don't want them to think that the forums are in any way working contrary to their purposes. Yukon Cornelius has handled this situation perfectly, in my opinion -- he found published pictures of the set, and he told us where we can find them if we want to see them before the "big reveal". (Thanks, YC, for leaving that choice up to us -- you rock.) But if I had found out what the set was and posted every detail I knew here on the forum, or scanned a picture and posted it, I think they'd have room to be honked off at me. And the last thing I want is for the producers of the best darn gaming accessories in the world to be honked off at me.

So let's conjecture, and increase Dungeon Magazine sales for this month, and enjoy the anticipation of waiting to find out "what we got". It's like having an extra birthday -- we know a "gift" is coming to us, we just don't know what it is. And that part is fun, too.

??? If its published the cat is already out of the bag. Someone post the pictures and save me the trouble of driving to the bookstore to look at the magazine.

I agree with Jackattack. I do rock. :)

Seriously though, if Jeff wants to post the ad, great. If not, I don't want to be the one to spoil the surprise.

Subscribers get the mag earlier than newsstands, and I must have gotten in on the early wave of subscription deliveries. So, maybe it won't actually be in stores before GenCon. If that's the case, Jeff probably planned the ad based on that timeline.

I'm with zoroaster100, though. Both magazines have become cool again. And, from what I hear, they're working with Wizards to get tighter integration with the miniatures line, so there will be minis available for the adventure paths they publish. Definitely worth another look.

Okay...lemonade time...

We will send out an extensive newsletter on Tuesday, Aug. 1st with complete info and many photos of the upcoming Mystery Set. We will start taking orders at that time. Note that orders for the Mystery Set will not start shipping until Monday, Aug. 7th as we will be very busy that first week in August with getting all the pre-orders out for the Cavernous Lake Set.

So...if you can wait a few more days...you will be rewarded with all the info you seek. Just hang in there.

The revealing at Gen Con should still be pretty cool -- as it will be the first time that people can see them in person AND we will have the talents of Stefan and Invincible Overlord to make a huge kick-butt display.

62 sets and counting. In addition, a boatload of individual pieces or sets of pieces.

Wow, so 138 might well be the greatest issue ever. The mud sorcerers tomb is among the greatest dungeon crawls ever, the styes is a brilliant dark fantasy campaign setting, and the challenge of champions adventure series are always a blast for a night's play.

My head is exploding right now! Can't.... type...!!!

Since we can't go out and get a copy of Dungeon (since from what I understand it hasn't hit the newsstands yet), I GUESS we have no choice but to wait. ::grin:: ::sobsnifflesob::

I'm so friggin' excited to see what this is!

Jeff -

You Da MAN!!!

WHAT TIME Next Tuesday will I be able to put in my order? I want to be early, so I don't have to wait until Mike IO gets his 275 sets shipped out!
Or was that GS who threatened to order that many? Or Kradlo - no, that's right, he said he was going to pick his up at GenCon.
Darn it, WHO WAS IT who threatened to sell DF empty before - oops, never mind; I just remembered.
It was ME!

Sorry guys, I take it back. I guess the Heat Pump got all of you off the hook - and the waiting list!

See ya!
