A One-Corner Shore Cavernous Lake piece.

Only one type of this piece would required, as it could be used in any orientation. These would be very helpful in designing lakes without any unsightly "drop-offs" along the shorelines, especially for those planning to make larger lake setups.

Hopefully, such a set might include at least two of these along with other items mentioned previously, (somewhere) in other threads.

I figured I'd suggest it now, rather than later.

A One-Corner Shore (or "outside corner") would allow us to make a lot more configurations, including L-shaped lakes and jetties extending into the water.

The outside corner is a must! I was a smidge disappointed to not see it in the lake set.

Other pieces could include:

An all-water piece with skeletons submerged in it
Alternate shore pieces with different details
Pieces (all-water and shore) that are studded with stalagmites
Standalone tentacles, fins, eyestalks, and other things that could poke out of the water (keep it clean, kids!)
A raised cave into which a river end disappears (could be a freestanding piece like the walls in the river set)
A waterfall (more of a cascade than the one that's in the river set, but freely positionable.)

I'll vote for it as well. I think Jeff and Stefan could be persuaded to come up with the piece for us, if the volume of sales met their cost projections.

Come on, who are we kidding? We're rabid addicts, and we'll buy the stuff because it's awesome and we can't get enough, so they know it'll sell!

So, get to work sculpting, Stefan! :D

Yeah, this stuff would be great. I'd love to see some kind of waterfall piece, and tentacles and fins kind of modelled after the lizardmen coming out of the water would be awesome.

How about some kind of marsh/sump tile to make soggy shoreline and to enable rock/water transition areas between cavern floor and lake tiles?
Ideal lurking ground for various semi-aquatic critters!

For marsh/swamp, try this: Use your favorite art program (Word's drawing tools will do in a pinch) to create the features you want, in green and brown against a white background. Print it out on clear transparency paper, cut out the area you'll be using, and put it down on top of the water tiles you want to use as the transitional area.

Alternatively, you could also try painting and flocking on clear transparency, or even on thin plexiglass (available at your FLHS) to create the desired effect. Just remember that you'll be putting miniatures on top of it, so keep the surface as firm and flat as possible.

Printing on transparency is also a decent way to create a grid overlay to put down on water tiles, for those who have large setups and/or want to keep track of movement on water.

GREAT idea, jack! Can I convince you to stick a copy of this post down in the Workbench neighborhood?

THIS is the kind of stuff I was thinking of when I suggested the forum to Jeff & Co.

See ya!

A One-Corner Shore Cavernous Lake piece.
This is definate missing piece that I could see the need for almost as soon as the set details were released. It would be handy to have a few of these, could be one design but a couple in a set. It is almost required for making islands or peninsulars into lakes.

Another handy piece with less use but still arose in my trial designs with paper is two small corners that are opposite diagonally. The two corners next to each other exist as the straight lake/river transition piece, but we need the two set diagonally.
This diagonal corners piece is useful for close to shore islands (either near lakes edge or a penisular) and lakes that narrow at points.

My other suggestion for a piece is a pool totally enclosed by cavern floor. (Like the dead end river but enclosed on all sides) This could be a simple pool for use in a cavern set or it could be the end of an underwater tunnel that is the entrance, either backup or only, to the lizardman (or whatever) lair or secret treasure store.

yes, the corner shore and the diametrically opposed shore were, sadly, edited out at the last minute because of the great expense of the lake Set...in the end we just had to keep the size of the set and the cost within reasonable limits...however, the good news is that the pre-ordering went very well and so I am pretty sure we will be able to do a third cavernous set that will not only include those two pieces but many others yet to be determined...yes, a wicked waters type set for 2007 looks highly probable...so thank you everyone for stepping up to the plate with your pre-orders! It has allowed us to make more kool things faster!
Let's make more!!

Stefan -

I dunno about 3 Wicked Waters Sets; it'll depend on what's in it.
But I definitely want at least ONE!

You're putting the FUN back into gaming again for me; it was getting a little flat and sour there for a while, probably because some folks in gaming were getting sour, and it was affecting me. Now, I'm getting eager to get back in the fight!

THANK YOU, DF!

See ya!
