Dwarven mithril mines would rock. (no pun intended)

Corridors with timbers shoring up the walls... a rail system on the floor. Hey wait a minute--that's the project I'm working on now! ;-}~

I would vote for Palace or Egyptian ambientation... after Tavern of course... and, well, some lava pieces would be awesome, but I don't think it needs to be a large normal size set by itself, but floor pieces which could combine with cavern.

Hi all,

Stefan has already said elsewhere that the "mystery set" will be something fantasy, and stuff others have hinted says Tavern.
Personally, I believe it will be the Tavern, but if a sewer comes down the pipe (pun intended), I won't argue. But I don't expect it.
I agree with RF* that the next set should be Sci-Fi Gamma, and if it isn't the furnishing set he wants so desperately, it should be a different type of accessories, such as elevators, ladders, and hatches; or something similar. We're not likely to see stairs in a Sci-Fi setting, unless they're formal, decorative sets, such as the ones in Return of the Jedi, or the inter-level ones in Stargate Atlantis.
Most Sci-Fi universes do not use stairways for functional purposes; they either use elevators ('turbo-lifts') or ladders. About the only exception would be the ones aboard the Serenity, and a Firefly-class freighter isn't the largest setting for a DF layout.
Perhaps a combination of furniture and accessories such as I've mentioned would work; that would allow DF to build a set large enough to deserve a separate package, and still give the Sci-Fi crowd a good add-on set.

Jeff, Stefan; anyone listening there? (I know you are, I just had to make my little joke.)

See ya!

I folks really want a sewer or mine system right now, they should be looking at Ainsty.
The Sewers of Aldwark & Yakkum Mine
www.ainsty.co.uk/

Dwarven Forge may never due either genre, and the 30mm format of Ainsty's is only slightly bigger than Master Maze.

Nice stuff, undoubtedly, but Stefan can do better.

Hear that, Aintsy? My 3-d gaming environment maker can beat up your 3-d gaming environment maker!

Stefan could most likely do better YC, but does Dwarven Forge have the assets to responsibly show us any time soon?

For the next several years, Ainsty is the best choice to be made from the lot.

No, Ainsty is UNPAINTED resin. But it DOES look good, if you're willing to do your own painting.
THAT'S one of the best parts of DF; GREAT Molds, AND great PAINTING!
And Stefan is ALWAYS looking for good ideas; I think that's one reason why he's frequently here on the forum.

see ya!

For pirate minis you need to find the old Fifteen Men figures that were released by Geo-Hex and I believe Eureka minis.
They were in 28mm and Noble Knight Games has a number of the blisters.
www.nobleknight.com/searchresults.asp?search=Fifteen%20Men

Did any company do any figures for 7th Sea?
They maybe decent too.
Whatever happened to that game anyway?
I almost bought into the book line just because of the interesting storyline.
AEG's WEB page acts like it is dead.

As far as pirate terrain, I am sorry to say that the only company I know that does any is WorldWorks Games, and it is card stock you print.
Denny Ungar and I have some severe differences in opinion about how much he should trust other companies and gamers; that paranoia is the only thing I do not like about WWG.
Their pirate terrain set called Legend of Skull Cove might have some good terrain items for you.

Enjoy your pirate adventures!

Well, I'm not getting back into that conversational quagmire. Suffice it to say that it's something I'd like to see and something I will continue to ask for.

Mystery Set Update:

My gaming group had a bit of fun with one of the proof Mystery sets this week. They got to play in an adventure that featured pieces from the Cavernous River and Walls, the Cavernous Lake and well as the Mystery set. Suffice to say...it was awesome. I was really surprised how well all three of the sets worked well together -- and I think you all will have a very fun August in store for you. I can't wait to see what I.O., Tom and other awesome setter-uppers are going to do with these pieces. Our "Cool Photos" section will be renamed "Super Cool Photos" section in August.
