Man, are we talking about the tavern set or my house? XDD here parquet is very very common. ^___^ almost every not-brand-new house have it.

Well, it could be a great solution now that you mention it but... mmm.. I think it would be more "medieval look" the longitudinal planks with irregular cuts...

Yukon Cornelius had a way you can do squares esialy with wood, to lazy right now to look them up though, YC you want to take this one... (i don't remember if he posted pics o i went and looked up petina or what ever it is after he said it)...
Yep, it was a parquet floor, as Jim mentioned. Luckily, I only had to tear it out, rather than install it.

But, for the sake of argument, what's to stop DF from making wooden walls with the same flagstone floors as the fantasy set? Then you can mix and match them as needed (kind of like Garanimals.) :)

You know, that hadn't occurred to me. It DOES seem a little limiting, in some respects, but it also makes sense. I actually kind of prefer the reverse, though, to match the Ogre Den -- wooden floors and stone walls! I think that looks good, plus for those of us with the OD, it makes it possible to incorporate it smoothly into a whole new setup.

But that DOES leave the problem of aligning the wood. Still, it might just be somethiing that we have to let go. There are, after all, giant seams in the lake and river, and nobody minds. That had been, for me, the biggest stumbling block. From way back when the water sets were announced, I was wondering how they could possibly make them modular, if they would allow that big seam in the river. Turns out, it really couldn't matter less. So maybe the wood will be the same way -- the planks won't line up the way they "really" should, but it won't matter. Some purists might object, but it won't be an issue, really.

I'm sure however it ends up, it will look good. Assuming, of course, that all the tavern stuff that's floating around isn't a red herring.

...floating...

...red herring...

I need a nap.

Last time I tipped a waitress, she fell over! In my lap!
And Sandy was with me!
And I got in trouble (if you'd seen the waitress, you'd know why)!
I don't tip waitresses any more - I let Sandy do it (it's safer; she doesn't tip them as far).

And by the way, YC:
You can't be right behind ME, you'd be dead by now (great brakes, no brake lights!).

See ya!

I don't know which disturbs me more, that you have no brake lights or the idea that you're posting on the forums while driving.
