So after looking, and looking, and looking, and stopping just short of trying to actually climb into the pictures of the new Cavernous River set, I realized that even though I have to wait three months, at least, before I actually have mine, that doesn't mean that there's NOTHING I can do in the mean time.

So I took out my cavern set, which I haven't used in ages, and some cavernous passage elements, and I set up the Ancient Caverns of Quetzl-Chupacabra, just a big random jungle cave network I have yet to populate with anything.

I'll try to post some pics tonight, but for now I was just struck by, and wanted to post about, how cool these sets are. It's really the versatility of Master Maze that makes it work so well -- after having these sets for years, you can still put something together entirely new and cool. You don't have to get a NEW set to make it work, you can come up with all sorts of fun, new things just with sets you already own. I can probably (but just BARELY) find enough new ways to set up my current cavern sets to keep me busy until the river set arrives at my door.

So goodbye bookcases, tavern tables, magical mirrors, giant kegs, and everything else out of place in a cavern! I'm gonna be speee-lunking through the spring!

Why no tables or kegs? Don't the dwarves set up rest stops every forty miles below ground?

I agree Caverns is a nifty nifty set it is the only "fantasy" i own, becuase it can transcend fantasy into any setting heck it is the very ground for whaere ever your game is set, and that is timeless.

I agree with GS on all of his points.
My problem though was that I could not wait and had other interests like Blood Bowl and Warhammer Quest so I bought Fantasy Master Maze nearly right after it was first released and since.
I do not play those any more so I look at what sets are good for Sci-Fi gaming and Caverns is beautiful for it!
