I've been in love with this sculpt for a long time but after seeing some of the amazing paint jobs she has had.... I felt I needed to wait until I could do her justice (or at least not embarass myself). After taking home the 3rd place trophy in the Reaper Manufacturer awards catagory at GenCon this year for my version of the the Hill Troll (I'm still giddy about that), I figured I should give Monique a try.

Man I love the Den of Evil set.

Wow, that's a great looking mini. What did you use on the base?

Wow, that's a great looking mini. What did you use on the base?
The Mini is afixed to a 1" round steel fender washer with Plumbers epoxy. The bottom of the base has green felt so as not to scratch delicate surfaces. The top of the base is a mixture of 4 different colors of Fine Ballast from Woodland scenics which was then glued on with thinned down white PVA (Elmers) Glue. Once the glue had dried it was then stained/washed with thinned down dark brown (almost black) paint and a thin layer of a deep deep red paint (colorwise think burgundy/wine colored).

Great paint Job!

I particularily like the treatment of the base, and nice blush on her cheeks!

Amazing paintjob!

I love the color choice, it hints at the femininity of the piece, but those dark eyes look like they mean nothing but business.

=) Great Contrast

And you’re also right, the DoE does make a nice background for photos.

*Dreams of a DoE, even just a few pieces, one floor tile, anything……….* =(

Wow! Great Job Tim! Very colorful. Violet and minty green are always very complimentary eh? All these years I never realized how good a painter you were!

Thank you for being such a loyal DF customer.

Stefan.

Bugeye;

Ah, Monique...
I always DID have a soft spot in my heart for French women.

WWWOOOWWWWWWWWW!!

What a babe! She makes even total mayhem look good.

Seriously, Tim, that is one awesome paint job. You no longer have to cower in the shadows in fear you paint work doesn't measure up to standards.

Also, that Ogre Mage is pretty damned good as well.

Bugeye ROCKS with a paint brush!!

That is the total truth JK.
The worse persons I have had to deal with in my background have been less than happy or dedicated women.
They have the capacity to be so focus on objective that they put almost every male soldier, airman, sailor, marine and coastie to shame.
I am surprised that there have been so few confirmed female insurgents over in SW Asia as there have been.
Even in a male-dominated culture, female irregulars always seem to be regularly involved in conflict, especially in insurgencies.

You did it again!!!

I’m simply awestruck.

I just have to ask because of the flawlessness of these pieces. Do you enter painting contests with them?
