of course, it seems now that all my figure painting time is going into terrain and not monsters or character types.

Isn't that the way it always goes?! I did the same thing. Terrain and scenery pieces are just so much easier and quicker to paint than minis. I have a serious backlog of creatures that needs to be painted so I can have more encounters. Glad to hear I'm not the only one that suffers from this dilemma!

hey stoat i had the same problems with some old minis i soaked with paint myself or bought on ebay.
for metal minis try the stuff girls use to get rid of their nailpolish (do not know the english word for it).
for plastics, even the pre painted from wotc, try break fluid.
most of the time you have to leave them in for a day or two depending on how thick the paint is. brush them with an old toothbrush (a new one is also ok) and wash them with soap - they look like they are beggin for paint.
very nice set up by the way!!!!
good luck and lots of fun.

Oh how I wish I had more... but again, where is the time to paint both terrain and monsters...? (I appreciate the company in this dilema, Dante.)

Camoudragon - thank you for the advice. It sounds like you have had better luck stripping miniatures than I have. And of course, if I keep re-painting old miniatures, I don't get my new ones painted :D .

It's not a dungeon. It's an Underground Fortified Defense Installation.

The primary Ingredient in most Nail Polish removers is Acetone, and is a darn good paint striper. but it eats some plastics...

Hey guys;

Floquil/Polly Scale make something called 'ELO' which is supposed to be THE PRIMO paint remover for plastics - does acrylic, enamel, latex, and just about anything ELSE you'd be foolish enough to brush or spray on a model. It should also work on metals, but I've never tried it there.
I did a test shot on an old Leif Ericsson/Interplanetary UFO model I bought off eBay, and it worked, no plastic damage at all that I could see.
IMPORTANT: RTFM when using any of this stuff!

Good luck!
