Some mini conversions I attempted for SWM.

I'll be the first to admit these are not all gems -- it's a poor musician who blames his instrument, but with pre-painted minis, sometimes you don't have as much detail to work with unless you go to the trouble of stripping the paint. The biggest problem, though, is that I'm still getting used to using green stuff for sculpting extra details -- these look better in person, when they aren't blown up to 10 times their size, I can say that much. Some of the whites look a LOT different when not in such harsh direct lighting, too.

Enough excuses -- the minis....

OK, some more -- Bespin Luke, two versions. The one with the gun is a Bespin guard, the one with the lightsaber is a fleet trooper.

My favorite, the AT-AT driver -- though the pics don't look as good as it does in person -- white is VERY hard to photograph, especially glossy white. The mask looks MUCH better in person, I promise.

It's a rebel pilot with a stormtrooper head, and lots of limb repositioning. I added the chestplate and tubes with green stuff, and they look much tidier from far away -- this close, unfortunately, they lose a lot... :(

Love the generics, i have long thought about doing something like that with R2... but this is where i get messed up with it being a :censored: collectable game, its a rare... i have only managed to bring myself to customize one rare, i made a Luke into an Advozic (took the head off of a D&D Rhek or something like that, the portly guy with and Axe and a horn off his forhead, looks just like an Advozic)... i just can't bring myself to hack up a rare...

I started down the dark path by accident...

I love the Rebel Storm boosters because, as an avid OT fan, there really can be almost no disappointment in them. At first it was possible -- I wanted a complete set, and repeats that got in the way were frustrating. But once I had a complete set, it was all gravy - more stormtroopers, more rebel troops, more jawas -- all gooood.

And I also discovered that any repeat rares I pulled I could convert. Not with all of them -- Dengar and IG-88 may go to ebay. But I pulled a few that were really great --

My first Yoda duplicate from CS (admittedly that shouldn't count in this discussion) was an easy choice to turn into an OT Yoda.

My first duplicate 3P0 and R2 were each set aside for future tinkering, as was my first duplicate Tarkin, etc. I only had 4 rebel pilots, and wanted them all -- until I pulled one on Monday and it became an AT-AT driver.

I try to limit my conversions to non-rares, I feel that pain. But sometimes, it's just so TEMPTING.

And it has reached a bad point -- instead of just seeing what I can do with whatever I pull out, I've ordered some specific rares online to alter. Greedo, for example, needs almost no alterations to become Bespin Han. Just give him a new head, paint him up, and maybe use some green stuff to hide the ridges on the back of his jacket. I love the pose, and the outfit is practically identical once you change the coloring.

The worst is R2 -- there are just SO MANY astromech possibilities, and R2 is not a cheap figure to mess with. He's not outrageous, but it's tough to get one for less than $9 or so. I'm going to stop at three -- and the last one I am thinking long and hard about what I want to do with it.....

A few new conversions -- a Tarkin that became Admiral Ozzel, who came out of lightspeed too early. (the moustache makes it Ozzel)

Also Figrin D'an, rockin'est dude in Mos Eisley. Gee, how'd I get such a good sculpt for a Bith? ....
