I thought that I would post a few shots of the impending city wall. I have decided that I need a wall gate house thing for all the times that my players start trouble at the city gate...a more frequent occurence than I like to admit.

This is all scratch from foam using a band saw, table saw and sanders. Glued up with Super 77 Spray Adhesive. I laminated several layers of foam then cut and shaped with tools.

Brought the thing in the house to see how it was scaling with other building and figs and thought why not post a start to finish project.

Just a couple shots...more as I continue plodding. Base coating and final shaping next

I finished sculpting the tunnels on each pier so that troops can pass underneath, as well as texturing the entire front surface with brick and stone work.

I am working on the crenellations and hoardings on the back burner, but the next real step is to do a quick drybrush on the entire surface to see what it is looking like. Post more later....

Mu hu ha ha ha!

Actually that is just a tiny overspray from the gallon of fire engine red latex that I spilled on my maple topped cabinet builders workbench. I was, how you say, VOLCANICALLY ANGRY when I did that.

Fourteen rolls of paper towel later I had calmed down.

All three stages of paint. I just knocked this out to see if the scale of the bricks is reading right. The color is all over the place but I am still gonna do a lot of detail carving so I can work it up as I go...

Man--you know what's freaky? Take a look at the image I just posted. I looked at your original photo and saw a freaky looking "grinning face" on the left tower so I downloaded the picture and enhanced it a bit...

Talk about your Salvador Dali meets Tolkien moment.

A) That is really freaking funny and strange.

B) Could future pics be sized a little smaller, I can't fit them all on my screen! In panning and scanning, I can't get a sense of the actual stuff. <:)

Thanks,
