Orc and Goblins new sleeping piles 3 Months ago
My Poor Orc and Goblin Hoards will finally be able to fire the company Chiropractor saving so much treasure and time off the job.....

I sculpted 6 Orc Bed Piles and 6 Goblin Bed Piles, made a set of molds and now I'm on to painting the first castings to prepare for Caverns in November....

I must say... I think these will be fun in my Dungeons... but I cant wait to stock a good Cavern set up.

Cast them in hot glue and I'd pick up a set for sure. As long as your mold is silicone it is a-ok!

Thanks for the compliments guys.

@Kitenerd.... Super easy to paint these as I kept the textures in layers... I will post pics again when I get the highlights and transparent layers on.

@LordofMuck.... these will be on Ebay in the near future if your in a hurry you can Email me... johnkeebler@charter.net

@Teazia.... I cast these in Urethane Resin... curious what the advantage of Hot Glue would be? I work in just about every medium at some point or the other and You have me stumped... So now I need to know why Hot Glue?

Thanks again guys,
John

Nice work again John. I'm not teazia, but I do know one advantage of hot glue... bought in bulk it is pretty darn cheap. The only entire pieces I have ever made from it so far are treasure piles, though I plan to try it for some inserts in the future. If there are any other advantages to it, I would like to know as well.

My players rue the day I bought "Dragon Mountain". Ever since they give every creature a bit more respect. You never know when the GM will decide that this group is crafty...

I will also pick some up on E-bay when the curse of Doom has been removed from my wallet.

I tried Mod Melts in a few molds. There is an issue with chilling. It is difficult to keep the molds warm enough. The clear might work with LEDs
The Mod Melts are plastic rather than normal hot glue.

They work in a high temp glue gun. I have only found them in small craft size. They would work much better with more watts.

looks great.

question for you. the pool. is that a 4x6 dungeon GT that you modified? if so, did you dremel out the mosaic to build the pool?

Just wondering b.c it looks fantastic.

This looks like a good idea for an add-on set for dwarvenite to me.

I've used hot glue to make large pools before, but never for smaller molds. A buddy built some larger outdoor pieces and once they were painted and the shores were done I just dropped some large glue sticks in them and tossed them on the dashboard of my car (I live in AZ). A couple hours later and I had a bunch of perfect looking lakes. They fogged up a little, but they were supposed to be acid type swamps. Looked great.
