I have a ton of terrain from Mega Bloks that my parents bought at a garage sale...

They say to me... "You like this stuff right?"

So now it's my job to make it work. Here it goes...

The idea here is that the entrance is overgrown and obscured. But closer inspection reveals there are indeed some inhabitants.

The first room reveals that the local bandits have made themselves a cozy little home here.

Deeper into the cave lays a rocky floor... stalagmites litter the floor creating uncertain footing and difficult terrain throughout the darkness. Water has gathered into a large pool.

The back half of the cave has been taken over by the local goblinoids... they use ladders and makeshift bridges to get from one area to the next. They have made a tidy sum by ransoming hostages. Only the truly brave or foolish would dare try to hunt them down in these winding passages.

They discovered a sarcophagus with the image of a golden dragon but despite their efforts they haven't been able to open it yet. So the goblinoids have built themselves a little prison to the north, and a treasure room to the south. They have used a lot of the existing architecture for their nasty needs.

And a better look at the second entrance... I like dungeons to have more than one entrance ideally.

And a pissed off Demon Door guarding the back... because why not?

Also a simple grate on the floor is a nice way to make the PC's nervous.

That stuff compliments pretty well for finding it at a yard sale, I'm assuming dirt cheap. Where did the tall ladder come from? Is that a mega blocks piece as well?

Yes I believe the ladders are from Mega Bloks as well since they fit onto the pegs (although I don't use the pegs much).

The thing that is nice about that tall ladder is that it stacks...
So I can make it about as tall as I want, since I have about 10 sections.

I'll use it for a wooden bridge etc at some point as well, and since they stick together, it is actually quite stable.

Out of all the pieces, those stackable ladders seem particularly useful for overall utility.

Yes it was dirt cheap and I got two tons of it. It took a couple of hours just to dig through it to sort it into categories... the stuff that you see all went into the category of "Doesn't need to be modded to be useful."

Awesome! I used to have some of those MB dragons sets, they were so creative. That was a real fun toy - not the most elaborate sculpts, but fun packaging and little extras and a lot of cute ideas.

I love the pool in this layout! Is that just a printout on paper? It looks fantastic.

Yes the water effect is just a top down printout of water that I got from Google images. I printed it out, and laminated it, and then slipped it under the tiles.

This was part of a test run that I did for water, lava, and magic circles.
Glad you like the look. =-)

How did the rest of the test run go? Lava and magic circles.

You can see the lava under the tiles similar to the water, and a magic circle on the tiles here as well.

In the future I will trim the magic circle to the actual circle itself, and I use very inexpensive double sided sticky tape to stick them on top.
