This won't help with dungeons or more than a piece or 3 (although I suppose you could apply the concepts and make light diffusers for larger projects?).
Someone linked an ehow on a simple light box so I threw one together.
Here's the link to the how to: m.wikihow.com/Create-an-Inexpensive-Photography-Lightbox
And here's the box I tossed together and a picture of my dusty monk (to show how much shows up)

Thanks for posting this, if it had been brought up before I missed it. My camera options are somewhat limited right now, so an inexpensive thing like this to improve the results is awesome. Especially with the holidays coming up and the materials widely available in the aftermath for free!

My players rue the day I bought "Dragon Mountain". Ever since they give every creature a bit more respect. You never know when the GM will decide that this group is crafty...

Note to those with some ability to make changes.. I'd recommend side walls at an angle to better allow the light to be directed to the face of the subject you are photographing. 90 degree you can place the lights upstage and the mini backstage (if you don't have the poster board sloping too much) but having two 45 degree angles toward the subject would produce better lighting. Another thing you can do with a box design is turn the facing slightly to one side and the camera angle as well to shoot straight. All of this is pretty much common sense but become more apparently after the fact so I figured I'd mention (my future plans for Light Box 2.0) so others can adapt should they decide to do so? :)

For anyone interested in a portable lightbox for taking pictures of small objects there's a Kickstarter called Foldio linked here.

I've linked to a picture; it's worth checking out. I'm going for one myself.
