OK, these don't feature DF as much as they could -- but 1 of the 3 does show some potential for one of the Fantasy Floor elements....

Law,

You really do have the Green COncept down, that is Sweet! As to the Elemental, I remember you posting that Pic a while back, How many did you end up Buying? And I am Very Curious about that "Painting" on the Pile of Treasure in the Pacground of Pic no. 1?

Thanks for the kind words!

The "undead ooze" (it's official name), I only got two. I painted one up to be a water elemental, and one as a regular ol' greenish brown ooze. That one looks nice, too, but I really prefer the water one. I may get one for lava, but they are like $9 each, so it's a bit pricey. (plus, to be honest, I wonder if I could make something similar in green stuff for cheaper....)

The painting is from a hobby store, meant for doll houses. They had some neat stuff, but the scale was all wrong -- this looked like a nice large treasure object for a dragon's hoard. I may replace the painting in the frame, but the big ship does work, I think.

L,
First, nice dragon!
Second, that's a very nice effect with the elemental and the DF fountain.
Lastly, what the big ship you reference? I must have missed it in the pictures.

Sorry -- the framed picture in the treasure pile has a painting of a big ship, but you can't tell in this shot. It's a nice picture, actually.

L--I did the same thing--I found some really nice "picture frames" for dollhouses that were a bit smaller and printed off some high-res old masters works (Da Vinci, Botticelli, etc. etc.) to mount in the frames. Worked out nicely. The next thing I'm going to work on is a wall in a ruin with frescoes on it. Can't tell you my secret technique but someday I'll post pics of it here! ;-}~

I don't know if you've seen my attempt at a fresco, here's a link to it:
www.voidgamers.com/images/data/photo/imagegallery/LAW-cmfresco.jpg

I like the idea, I don't know how crazy I am about my execution of it. I stole the idea, btw, from someone on the HA boards. I'm going to try it again one day, this was one of my first HA attempts -- seeing the fresco was something that prompted me to get my first molds!

I did see that! I like it. They say an artist is always his own harshest critic. So don't knock yourself too hard over the way it came out--the effect is really nice.

I got the idea to do frescoes on some interior pieces years back after studying more about Diego Rivera and his frescoes at the Detroit Institute of Arts (when I still lived in Detroit and was going to school at the Center for Creative Studies College of Fine Arts).

::sigh:: You know, after being an IT project manager for 11 years, I *still* want to work in the hobby industry! Maybe one of these days I'll produce something and sell it. ;-}~

Law,

I was Going to say that I thought, Dante and yourself had Spoken about Frescos before... Nice to see that my Memory is not totally Shot...<Grin>... As to Scale on the Ship Painting, I do get what yopu mean, but in the Dragon Hoard Context I think you are right about being able to get some "Big" Treasures... Plus Any one who has ever been to a "Real" Catle, has probably seen some Grotesquely Oversized Paintings that are Just SOOO out rageously over the Top that they Could be The Art Works of Giants... Hey GIANTS...! That Painting is No longer out of Scale! And I'm betting you Could find other "Giant Sized" Objects in the DOll House Section Department as well?

Man, those would be some very unthreatening giants. Doll house furniture/accessories, not usually known for being gruff, scary, violent stuff.

"Hey, stop it! That's where I keep my sewing! Oh, now what are you getting into? The armoire? My piano bench? No, my rocking chair!"

Actually, I'm kinda liking this idea. Dainty giants.

I thought dainty giants were those truck drivers I see at truckstops eating donuts with their pinky fingers extended..?

If you guys really want to drool over some really cool lead miniatures, check out this doll house link: www.dollhouseportal.com/metalindex.html

I spent over a HUNDRED DOLLARS on that site a few years back. I found so, so many things to paint up at treasures or dungeon accessories I just couldn't stop loading stuff into my shopping cart.
