So - one last jungle layout. This time I went with something very basic, but (in my humble opinion!) very effective, just large floor pieces supported by red pillars, making an Aztec-influenced pyramid structure. (and, of course, the looming volcano in the background, this time with some chasm pieces creating a pockmarked jungle plateau)

Three humble adventurers (or, maybe four, depending on whether I remembered to include Sir Kalel of House Krypton) stumble upon the scene and inadvertently set off some kind of alarm.... awakening the reptilian sentinels that have long slumbered here.....

I also decided, $#@$%@#$ it, I'm puttin' the stargate in the center of the volcano pit. Wanna know what it does, players? Dive into the lava and mess with it, see what happens! HA! * evil grin *

Oh, and I found my old Saurus statues, I thought they made creepy decorations, little reminders to hapless intrepid explorers what might be lingering nearby...

Something just unbelievably fun about a huge fight out in the open with all these swarming lizardfolk...

I love the idea of finding these ruins in the jungle somewhere -- these adventurers just looking around, hoping for piles of gold, hearing shuffling and hissing through the brush...

More exploration, more major battle. Sir Kalel has shown up to help our friends! (note the color scheme of our Kryptonian knight's outfit....)

To close out... I must confess (as though it isn't obvious) sometimes I very much drink the GW kool-aid. There is just something...COOL! about having a whole army lined up en masse. In this case, every single freaking saurus in my collection, which means I'm including some of my earliest-ever figures, really before I had any idea what the heck I was doing. The paint jobs on some of the deeper blue lizardmen and the emerald green ones are really awful, but from a distance you can't necessarily tell. All you get is the really cool image of just...tons! of nasty pointy saurus warriors massing at the temple for a major offensive...

Oh, and while most of my figures are variations on blue and green, there are a small number of red sauruses hanging out by the volcano's edge...

Yeah, I'm a sucker for these rows and rows and rows of warriors. I like having masses of zombies and skeletons, but there's something about lizardmen that makes it all the more tempting to put these massive groups together.

Most excellent! Impressive collection of lizardmen, and as usual, great setup and pics!
Thanks for all the time and effort Law. I really enjoyed these series of jungle ruins themed posts.

I see you have a "few" Saurus warriors. With so many of them, they really make quite an impression on poor wandering adventurers. I definitely need to find time to paint mine!

Thanks, guys! Sadly, this is close to being dated -- I just picked up another set of Saurus figures, and once they're painted this will no longer represent my whole army. Ah well. I really like the design on these guys, what can I say?

Here are a few other pics, showing what I can. I really like seeing the lizardmen from behind, all the bright colors on their scales really looks neat to me.

I like the aztec-calendar-gold-icon thing, made from extra stegadon bitz.

"Hey, these mystic, superstrong, spiked, thorny, betoothed murderous reptile beasts -- think they'd mind if we nicked this?"
