Lake! Big Lake! 1 Year, 3 Months ago
One of the many downsides of throwing away my original DF boxes is that I now have a very difficult time finding all my water elements. I wanted to put together a massive layout with everything (all the cavernous water sets) but I could only find random bits and bobs from each set. (As a consequence, I can't even say how many sets I used to make this -- probably at least two of each, with maybe a few assorted add-ons from a third).

Still, it probably wouldn't have done me much good in terms of size to find more -- I ran out of room! But I would have had more options in terms of how the lake looked. Well -- next time! (Next time I'll come up with more imaginative uses for the walls, as well -- this was more of an experiment than an attempt to make a real setting, so as a result everything has a strangely alien feel, with no walls anywhere.

Some of the POV shots of the horizon make it almost look swamplike, if the stalagmites could be seen as strange growths. Hmm....

Incredible set up!
Instead of alien, I found the openness created tension. An unbound depth - what happens if my character gets too close to the edge? Or limitless sky - what is watching me?
The wall additions draw this out even more - almost a safe zone - at least I know nothing is behind me! (Unless it comes over the wall, perhaps!)

Cool setups! Perhaps you could place some moss material around the stalagmites to effect the swamp vibe? Nothing that cannot easily be removed of course. That and a few swampy type trees....

Very nice. I once did something very similar to make a swamp and I used a large bag of lichen to cover the outcrops and it really worked!
