Wow! Awesome, awesome, awesome stuff. Like everyone else, I love how you've combined the various elements -- ruins and lakes and woodland pieces, they all look fantastic together. I can't even say "I particularly like..." because it's all equally amazing.

Beautiful setp Feymous! I really like how you used the floor from the Woodland set to transition from outside to inside the ruin. Also, the custom terrain tops for the cavernous river is awesome!! That really made a seamless transition between the terrain. Great idea. But those mushrooms....I must know, where did you get them or did you make those? Excellent touch.
Also, great minis, kudos on the paint jobs!

Bravo Lady! Bravo!..... Sometimes all us guys need a woman's touch.... (hummmm..ahhum) building dungeon's.

All that set up needs is a warm fire pit.... and I know you have one.

Good job lady

Gah!! I own that set and yet failed to recognize them. I obviously need to use them (as I haven't).

Wow, thanks everyone for the kind words. I'm glad you like the setup. It was a lot of fun to plan, build, play, and photograph. The module I ran can be used as a prequel to another adventure in the same village. I'm already prepping for that one :)

@ Purplesaber - Borrow away! I'm constantly inspired to "borrow" ideas from the pics posted by other forum members. The hundreds of setup pics I've downloaded from this forum attest to that.

@ LordTentacle - the greenery is mostly Woodland Scenics (trees, bushes, foliage). The bushes were easily made in four steps: (1) cut a steel wool scrubber (found next to sponges in grocery store) into a few pieces, (2) mold pieces into desired bush shape, (3) cover in glue, (4) roll in Woodland Scenics "bush" material.

@ The Snake - the green mat is from Hotz Mats. I have a couple in different colors. Not only do they look nice and provide a grid for outdoor battle, but when the felt bottomed DF pieces sit on the felt HotsMatz they don't scoot around at all, even when jostled by players.

@ biowizard - yes, the ground cover was made just for this setup, although not part of my original idea. When I stopped by my local hobby store to get trees I found this. It was a roughly 4"x6" piece of paper with the sand/grass/flowers already attached. All I had to do was trim to fit the cavern pieces.
Let me second the sentiment for more ladies in gaming! I saw a couple women post on the forum shortly after the KS ended. Hopefully, they're still lurking around. Hmmm, on a related note, maybe if you guys get your wives/girlfriends into gaming an argument can be made for spending more of the household budget on DF ;)

@ Arcarius2001- I'm a little surprised you didn't recognize the mushrooms ;) thanks for the compliment on the mini paint job. It's ridiculous how addicted to minis I've become since I started collecting DF. In my opinion, they tell the story that brings a setup to life. I don't think I'll ever be caught-up on paitning these little guys, because I'm constantly seeing (and then buying) minis that I imagine setups for.

@Keeblerorc - thanks. And a big THANK YOU for the awesome fire pits. Received them a couple days ago and already have a little setup in mind to showcase these beauties.

And now these pics have been added to my collection of awsome DF setups! I shared them in my fantasy rpg terrain group on facebook too, giving you full credit of course. Ben, from Ben's RPG Pile was especially impressed (and he knows good terrain!).

Very sweet layout! You did a great job recreating the map design and blending all the DF pieces into a truly immersive experience for your players. I hope they consider themselves fortunate :-)
