Tdaraa,

Maybe... But I hear that the Local population of beholders is untenable... So you might reconsider Relocating Elsewhere...<Grin>...

It took me about an hour to build this monster. That’s not taking into account the countless hours in the past of learning how to stack DF pieces so they don’t tumble. That’s the biggest trick I think, then once you’ve got that under your belt it’s Showtime!!!, and anything is possible.

As far as it being an original design, I rely a lot on my stored memory of National Geographic, Movies, etc. for my inspiration, and then I add in what necessary for the night’s adventure. I not only do DF builds, I also work with foam terrain and wood, or combinations.

For those who didn’t see our Road Warrior miniatures here’s a link.

Oops,

That’s me as the guest  , I forgot to sign in  .

Anyway MLV you asked how the party faired against the Beholder. They survived with minor cuts and bruises; however they failed to kill the Beholder who managed to escape (minus his horde :) ). He’ll be talking revenge in an upcoming game for sure!

Stacking is Important... I Think One of the Things that would be Very Kewl about trying to Have a Forge-Con, would be Getting People together Just to Trade Ideas about Doing just that... And of Course other Kewl Stuff as well, but it can be a lot of Fun to Just Break out the DF and Play with it just to "See" how it Goes together, so there should definately be a Work Shop of Some Sort... I Really Wish this Kind of thing Could Happen...

As to Players... Heh...Heh...Heh... When they least Expect it/ Think you have Forgotten...<EFG>....

That's incredible.

I am thinking that my novice set up in my basement does not deserve to share the same forum space as that. Great ideas. Wow. As soon as I figure out my wife's camera I'll send in pics in the beginner section.

It's ok Will, I've been doing this D&D thing since 1977ish. IO and Tom and a few of the others here are simply in another league. Some of this work is darned near art. That's without considering the painting. These folks are somewhat humbling. Use thier ideas and displays for inspiration and enjoy your gaming < grin >

God bless,

Spencer

Beeing in the beginnersleague myself I have to say I love to see "easy" setups as much as things like "The Sewer"..
There is always something to see and lern... for me more so on the "easy" setups"

As you said ... some guys here are FREAKS (and I say that wanting to be a freak myself)...

I also will post setups that are - well - just DF "without all creativity" here... maybe a beginnersection would not be that bad ;-) - for us regular guys...

I just built my "Evil Boss" Lair... with secret doors and all... some fotos will come soon...

:-D

^^^I actually thought it would be fun to have a building contest with a theme for everyone to follow (like a sewer, or a wizards library, or the haunted halls of eveningstar etc.). I don't know if limiting the sets would make it more or less challenging though.

Anyway, spectacular work there on the sewer!! :D

There should be a new, stronger word for killing.
Like badwrong, or badong. Yes, killing is badong.
From this moment, I will stand for the opposite of killing, gnodab."

Tomgar,

Maybe do Two Parallel Challanges, (Ie)...

Challange One Could be Using a restricted number of Sets To Accomplish the "Objective"...

While Challange Two Could Be an Unlimited Sort Of Thing...

So in this way we could get the Best of Both Worlds...

Also we should probably Specify Rather Non-DF elements should be "Allowed"... (Maybe with the Exception of PC and Monster Miniatures, Since that is Kinda Limited from DF)...

That is a beautiul piece of work. I very much like the curved pieces on their side.
