(well, zoomorphic interlace, I suppose; it's been a while).

Sorn,

Did you happen to commission any other MM models? I'm excited to see more. I am also on the MM forum and loved another poster's Kracken, I'd love to see more paint jobs on that model. Well thanks for the pics again.

@dmalcom Bohun painted all of the scarification on the model. Check out the following youtube video to see what the model looks like without being painted.

@quuids Bohun is now working on my Tarvax starter set. Sebastien will be working on my Ysians, but, unfortunately, he has put my stuff on hold because he has to paint the Tarvax for Mierce Miniatures and has some models he has to paint for Smartmax. He also is taking two weeks off to help out on a rock festival. pshaah! These darn artists and their rock festivals! Imagine taking two weeks off to do that! ...(I am a bit envious)

I posted this previously, but I figured I would post-it again here since I think some of you may not have seen it. Select the link below to see a spin of a battle between the Bloodmaw and a party of adventurers in a beautiful Dwarven Forge cavern. Feel free to use your finger or mouse cursor to rotate the image. The adventurers were painted by Alexi-Z (i.e., Natalya Melnik).

Krull looks amazing! I'm assembling mine right now and pictures like these give me a boost of inspiration.
The Jotunn is also very great! Your gaming miniatures painted up to a professional showcase level must look absolutely awesome with your fantastic terrain. Krull wandering through the forest, the Jotunn rampaging through the city, or as a beast in the arena...

Great stuff man, great stuff! :)

Thanks, Kronos! Your terrain and minis are even more impressive. After all, you built and painted them yourself!

@Sorn yes I would love to take 2 weeks off for a music festival! Must be nice! They deserve a month off for painting that Krull mini to be honest!

I love the 360 spin photo, everything you have is perfectly painted. I bet your gaming sessions are epic, you need anymore players? Haha

Thanks again for the pictures

Thanks for sharing - the 360 turn is awesome - really shows off the figures nicely. Keep em coming - it's inspiration for us lesser painters!

Thanks, guys. I am curious. Which paint job do you think took longer to complete and required more painting expertise: Krull or Jotunn? I am curious to hear from you.

I want to say Krull took longer and more expertise but I can't. I think they took a similar amount of time and skill. The precision and skill of painting the scarring for Jotunn is impressive but the realism (well fantasy realism) and ability to blend colors in Krull is amazing. I think it's a toss up. They are both works of art.

My level of painting experience is insufficient to do more than guess... but I can at least take a poke at it. It seems to me that Jotunn has more blending and shading done which could have made Jotunn more time consuming, especially the way some of the shading was used to pick out highlights on the metallic bits.

I can see hints of painting techniques I know of and what looks like the beginning teaser of techniques I do not yet know about, or perhaps a way to combine techniques that makes them seem different. I would be very curious to know the techniques used for the shading and color transitions of the hair, it is very smooth and well blended. Perhaps the artist has done or could be convinced to do some tutorials. My skills may never hit that level, but it would still be interesting to see the methods employed to achieve those sorts of results.

My players rue the day I bought "Dragon Mountain". Ever since they give every creature a bit more respect. You never know when the GM will decide that this group is crafty...

Interesting answers. To make it more interesting, I can tell you that one of the models took almost twice as long to paint as the other model. Before I tell you which, any guesses?
