My first almost decent setup 1 Year, 5 Months ago
Try number two at uploading images...

So I'm a recent addict, took the plunge at the KS and now have 16 existing sets and still need more! Mainly a mix of DoE/HS, with some ruins, woodland,RotA. So far I've just been assembling tiles on the table with no real goal in mind, just to get used to them. Tonight I decided to try to be a bit more methodical and create something closer to useable in a gaming session.

Here's three pics of the resulting layout:
The first shows the complete layout. I didn't have enough walls to finish the very back of the structure, but othwise I'm pretty happy.

The second one shows the ambush/entrance way. I couldn't find a better angle, but the first two pairs of walls are the arched windows from the DoE:Expansion -- creating a cross fire ambush location for the party as they enter. The curved walls are creating blast deflection regions so a single fireball (or what have you) through a window doesn't toast the entire galley.

The third shows the center of the temple with its double raised platform. This was another key feature I wanted to play with, I'm not entirely happy with how it came out -- makes the room larger than I'd like-- uses up a lot of my in-short-supply-walls -- I think I'd try again with the second tier of stairs supported by pillars rather than the second platform.

In general I wish I made better use of the 6" hallways, but I think that'll have to wait until I can get a second or third DoE:Rooms set if they come back in stock. I'm really constrained by corners and walls.

Definitely open to feedback! I know its spares (no extra dressings/defenders shown)

nielsene,

Please do not give up posting your probably awesome setup. Any PC has the minimum software already installed to resize an image and it's easy.

-Open "Paint": Start, all programs, accessories, Paint
-Open you image: Open, browse to your image
-Resize: On the home tab, click resize, select pixels, fix the width to 1000 pixels.
-Click save.
Make sure it is less than 500 kb: right-click the file/Properties.

Also check to see if your viewer/preview program/function has a tool or pulldown to resize images.

Yay Mac Preview!

I like the symmetry of the two wings off the main area. I also like how you used the geometry of the open space under the second tier to highlight the otherworldliness of the soul pit (it extends downward into/through empty space).

@jackattack, thanks!

That was exactly what I was going for with the raised pit above the black gem. Coupled with the interior corner pieces to create a kind of "forecourt" before the pit -- a few temple guard can keep it bottlenecked effectively -- except if people want to risk darting under the pit/through whatever malevolent force circles there.

I think I might break the symmetry in the future when I have more building supplies. The smaller wing is leading down to a prison level, and probably should also have a guard barracks and maybe a duty room of some kind. It probably wants to open into the forecourt of the before the bit, rather than in the temple proper.

The other wing should have one other room at least -- sleeping quarters for the lesser acolytes -- in addition to the currently shown library or workshop style space.

The high priest's quarters and unholy relic storage would be on a second story out the back of the structure currently shown.

Basically, I'm in the planning stage of a new campaign, and I'm hoping to use some play construction now to help shape the world and the story.

That came out very nice. I like the raised section, multiple levels always add interest.

NICE! I'm going to borrow your idea of the middle section with the curved walls! Great Look!

Awesome! I think that's a great layout, the overhead shot in particular is really fantastic.
