Re:Experiments with the Woodland Set 1 Year, 6 Months ago
Welcome Betty. Let me recite for you the steps...

Hello My name is Shadox. I am a DF collector.
I need this set because I bought that set
I need 4 sets so I can do a bigger setup
I need 4 sets because now I can make a bigger setup and I do not want to take
it apart to I need more sets to use from day to day and leave my big setup
alone.
I crave new sets.
Most of all I have fun.

:-)

Well done - very creative.

I love the idea of using them for a garden setting. I'd like it even more if DF did a 'garden of peril' set, replete with hedges, flower banks, grass and pathways, garden benches etc - a kind of druid's grove expansion set that could make the original woodlands set more utilitarian.

Nice work, they go well with the water pieces. I did a small overgrown looking tree fort using the woodland stuff, and will post pix when I do it again with a bit more care.

Well that erases any doubts I ever had about the woodland set. This is a very great setup, I love it! Absolutely stunning! :)

1. Jeff and Stefan should add some cross-set pictures to the Woodland product page.

2. Has anybody tried putting Woodland pieces around the outside edge of a Medieval Building set-up?

Law, these pics and setups are very nice. Great job combining elements from different sets. The Woodland set really does shine mixed with these other elements you combined it with. All your pics were nice, but the woodland/water pics were my favorite combo.

Great ideas, thanks for sharing! I can't wait to pull out my Woodlands sets and try these combinations for myself.

In the year since discovering DF I've browsed through most of the pics in the "Cool Photos" section of the forum. I've come to expect certain setup styles from different forum members (setup design is very akin to an artistic style). Although not always large or elaborate, your setups consistently showcase unique and creative ways to use pieces and mix sets. I'm always excited to see that you have posted pics because I inevitably find ideas I want to "borrow". Keep them coming!

Wow, thanks! I'm glad people are enjoying the pics.

Here's another one -- a little shrine in a glade. I like this statue, I normally use it with the Realm of the Ancients stuff.

Very nice Law!

And I noticed you had used it in the Catacombs pictures earlier - it struck me as neat "ghost" one could encounter in the area filled with undead.

All of those pics totally make up for the 6 photos I tried to post 18 times this morning. (If anyone knows of a thread on the forums dealing with coding issues please put up a link to it.) But enough about me - your set up and photos are OUTSTANDING! I've never been too attracted to the Woodlands set due to what I figured was a pretty exclusive design to be used as a "stand alone".

You've proven me wrong without a doubt! Now I'll be looking to pick up a set or two!!
