For his birthday I got my husband two ice cavern sets, one room set, and one passage set. I also ordered some vinyl sign banners printed with aerial shots of different types of environments - the one you see here is 2'x6', but next time I'll get a 4'x6'. This setup uses the one room set and one passage set.

I like the tiny room (vault?) in the middle of the first room, and the sealed up (?) dragon.

Very nice use of that banner, too. Did you add any reference markings, or do you measure distances another way?

I plan to do a 1" grid all over with a fine tip sharpie, but I need to get a longer ruler and some major free time first. ;-)

Very nice. I would not have thought of using the trees like that. But now you've done it, built a setup and posted a pic.....Welcome to the addiction!

nararabbit, Nice first setup! Keep them coming, we keep lurking the forum for them mostly.

May I suggest you take a look at this for possible inspiration to make your 1 inch grid? You might have a kick out of it... or not.

Also, you can host your pictures directly on the forum if they are less than 500 kb and I think maximum 1000 pixels wide. This way, someone seeing your post in 10 years would still have access to the photo if you were to lose your photobucket account or something..

Or you can use "+" marks every two inches instead of a full grid.

Cool setup! I also like the use of trees nestled within the DF pieces. I'm going to "borrow" that idea for use with a Woodlands setup.

Welcome to the addiction and the forum. :)

Nice work. I'll be borrowing that closet/chamber/stash in the middle of the room idea. Probably have multiple of those like large pillars, but make one of them a secret room with a tra...treasure.

We all love to see pictures of builds here. Keep them coming, nararabbit.

Nice stuff, and welcome. I have found trees really useful for those smaller gaps as well, especially with cavern pieces which can leave really awkward shaped spaces at times.

We will have to think of some good names for "Underdark" tree types hehe.

Creative set up. I especially like the mix of DF with other, more common, craft ideas.

The spaces / gaps in the floor plan are brilliant -- the players will go nuts trying to figure out a way to get to the trees.

Are you sure you got them for him? :)
