All

While waiting for the Kickstarter I've done some work and build me a new dice tray. I once made one a few years ago in DF style. But it is falling apart after a lot of use.
The old dice tray had a few issues - mainly because I had to make my own corner piece and casting individual stones in resin is always less precise as in plaster.

So this time I did some improvements. The whole dice tray is now cast in a single piece. It took me a lot more work ahead of time - but I'm able now to (more quickly) do some more. Having done the original in plaster also means it is much more accurate. And being in one piece means it won't lose some pieces after a while.

Picture 1 shows the nice new tray in use

Picture 2 is a zoom in

and from below - surprisingly difficult to cut a perfect octagon in felt - but I'm getting better

and here comes an improvement over my last one. The felt inside actually can be taken out and you can use the tray as an impromptu battle-grid

and here is my very first test cast. I had assumed that the material was opaque and was surprised how it looked - like amber.

Stefan

Drop me a Message with an address and i will send you One of the First ones.

DnDgamer

Yes - I plan to produce some more and they will be for sale. Too much effort to do just a single one. I will be on holiday from Wednesday for two weeks and plan doing some after that. I would also help to have some warmer temperature for casting again. The resin should ideally be at room temperature, not close to freezing.

I currently plan DF classic style (similar to DF but I'm not aiming to match it), just black (if you want to match it yourself), amber (wasn't planned but I like it), transparent / ice (hoping that the clear resin still works, looked too vicious yesterday in the shed - but might have been the temperature).

This will be small scale - maybe some 20 or so. I doubt I will be able to do too many. So people interested drop me a message and I give you preferred treatment.

Thod, I will absolutely take one of those when they're available. When the time comes, just let me know pricing and how to get in touch with you for shipping info :)

Yes - this is Hirst Arts.

The octagonal tower for the corners. I use the corner piece and the two stones making a corner alternatively.

The walls are 24 2 inch blocks - individually shortened 3-4 mm to fit. It is very difficult to build something this size exactly. So I glued on the corners first and fitted in the walls each individually as I had to shorten them anyhow. Keeps away any holes.

The floors are the flagstone mold.

And yes - I did take out a licence with Bruce - actually a while ago now as I had it planned originally last year but never got around. And as DF EU distributor I can't any longer claim I'm doing this as fun as I did a few years ago when I sold occasional bits and pieces on EBay.
