Second Annual Christmas Game 1 Year, 11 Months ago
This was a rough game. While preparing a few days earlier I decided to toss the DCC rules and made up my own rule set! It was a combination of Warhammer Fantasty Roleplay 1E with a little Dungeon Crawl Classics and DND mixed in.

It took a good 4-5 hours the night before the game to set up the scenery, and I went to sleep trying to write down as much of the adventure as possible. Game day lasted around 10 hours, nearly all of it I was on my feet moving around the table.

Enjoy the pictures, sorry about the incredibly shallow field of view, I had a massive telephoto lens on my camera.

Bonus: see how many pieces from the new treasure set you can spot

The adventurers finish desecrating what remains of a ruined tomb

The dwarven fortress, an allied lair which nearly annihilated the group as they mistakenly attacked it.

The victim of a trap? The players did not mange to explore this room in our marathon ten hour session.

A demon which fortunately was not around when the adventurers peered their heads in to this furnace.

Misc thoughts: this was a lot more rushed than I thought. I had to speed paint a few pieces I needed for the game prior. I was hoping for better use of the multiple levels, but just did not have time. With all of the different staircases and ladders I would like the next game to run about 5 levels deep. The wood basings need to be done a little more carefully to make it all fit together just right.

Also I still don't have a proper table cover. If it was black that would help a lot.

Thanks a lot for sharing. It is always inspiring to see someone showing here his own ideas of layouts.

About pictures not uploading - the most common issue is size. I tend to re-size every picture prior to upload as my DSLR has a resolution which is incompatible (too high) with this board.
And we are talking a pretty old one - so nowadays some phones will produce pictures too big.

Where is that small wooden bridge from and can you send me the direct link to where I can buy it?

What a nice set up!

Hi Monk,
I think you're referring to the bridge that is found in the cavernous river & walls set...check it out.

Thanks guys.

The bridge is great. In a conceptual set up I did when the set first arrived, I used it to bridge two stacked "buildings." If you set the miniatures in the middle they will stand fine, but I did find if they are set at the edge most will tend to fall over.

Also this was the first game I did with the narrow passages set. That really adds a lot in terms of being able to build "buildings" with the Dwarven Forge pieces.

Yes, I already resized the photos, they were smaller than the others and it was still giving me the size too big message.

Oh nice. I will order it when it comes back in stock. I just ordered the Cavern Chasm Set and Lake Expansion sets, but the set you're referring to is out of stock right now.
