Monkplayer's Pathfinder Mendev Epic Adventure 1 Year, 8 Months ago
You've entered the world of Mendev set in the Inner Sea World of Pathfinder. You're looking at Terotyn Village located 60 miles north of the capitol and on the eastern edge of the Estrovian Forest.

Our young (1st level) adventurers will be arriving at Terotyn Village nearing the end of the Spring Harvest Festival (look for the market in photo) looking for their first employment. On the street is Brutus Carver and his two henchmen who will be bullying each adventurer as they arrive in town. Brutus hates "outsiders" because they take attention away from him because he loves talking about his father (a former fighter) and his special armour (that he currently wears).
The bully will also be following them because the adventurer's will embarrass him inside the tavern later that night and he wants revenge. They will eventually kill him (after he's fifth level) and he will return as a Graveknight (hence the armor he's wearing that his deceased father wore). Brutus will eventually lead the Lich's special tactical unit in the final epic battle.
When the adventures are sitting in the tavern unknown to them (at least initially) will be the Pathfinder Society search party looking for the lost Mendev sword artifact Judgement, and their missing member. The Lich's "right hand" man (a sorcerer) will also be in town looking for any useful recruits. He and the Pathfinder Society are seated in the corner of the tavern furthest from the door, as neither of them like attention. The sorcerer will hire Brutus to keep an eye on the adventurers. Brutus is in ready agreement because he already hates them for embarrassing them.
Later that night the town cobbler will accuse Espan (grocer) of stealing some of his chickens. The butcher will also agree that Espan had stolen one of his pigs. This will ensue in a tavern brawl because Espan maintains his innocence. Melvin (town cleric) will run and get the Lord of the Manor, John Billicks. Hey will run in and demand, "Silence!" And listen to everyone's version of what happened at which time two more people will chime in about lost poultry and eggs. The Lord will request volunteers from people visiting Terotyn as this is the best choice for impartiality. He will first ask the Pathfinder Society members who will laugh at him like he "nuts." The new adventures in town (my players) hopefully will take the bait and they will eventually end up at a small set of caverns. They will first fight a Cave Bear (CR 2) that the newly resident cavern Goblins kicked out. One Goblin will escape and go get more Goblins/Hobgoblin leader and then later on track down our adventurers for revenge.
After defeating the Goblins they find a dead adventurer in the back of the caves who has hidden a log book in the floor crack underneath him. Inside (see photo) is his coded notes (Pathfinder Society missing member) and a previous person's coded notes (the Queen's archaeologist discussing clues to the lost sword of Mendev)! The adventure starts!
Our adventurers will be in competition with the Pathfinder Society, a second Queen's archeologist group which will show up at the dragon's lair a little late, and a second Goblin party that wants revenge, and Brutus the bully will show up on occasion.

On the left is the tavern (with a setup much larger than what's inside the tavern building. This will allow easier access to the miniatures. Sitting in the corner of the tavern is two Pathfinder Society character's (rouge and fighter) that will be trying to find the lost Mendev artifact Judgement faster than our adventurers.

EPIC!!!!

Can you give us a photo of the whole awesome game room with the town lay-out?

Someday you should host a DF forums weekend game at your house in that awesome room you built!

@Harneloot
Here's the pic of my room! I LOVE the idea of an epic all weekend (at least Friday night/all day Saturday) gaming session. I'm already planning that for my original gaming session friends from 12 years ago as they have all moved out of town. Why not have a second one maybe on a holiday weekend? I would feel quite honored to have such an esteemed group of players. Who's interested? I live in the south east of America.

Monkplayer,

I would be interested. I suggest Friday start between 7-8 so everyone will have time to travel and possibly only miss a half of day of work. All day Saturday and possibly have the epic battle finale on Sunday morning before everyone has to leave for travels. I am still working on the idea of a DF CON out of Dallas. I do not live in Dallas but it is very easy to get to Dallas from anywhere in the US. We could start a whole series of DF Mini Weekend game fests!!!!

(I am currently working on Sponsors for the CON so that guests will only pay a portion of the fees for hotels and food.)

Shadox,
It would be tough to end the weekend gaming at my place on Sunday morning due to church. I like the idea though of ending late Saturday night. This would give people all day Sunday to travel home.

Yes, Dallas or even Atlanta would be a good fit for a DF con! I like your ideas!

Great setup, props, and of course your gaming room is the best. Oh, your story is really good, too. Did you create it?

Count me in for Fri/Sat gaming mini con. I also live in southeast US...Florida to be exact!

Here are a couple of pics from a treasure horde. I bought the treasure pile from a Ebay seller. Thod sent me the gems (Thanks Thod!) and I just added the gems to the pile. I drilled very small holes with my Dremel and added one drop of Super Glue.

I will be using this treasure pile and about 8-10 other piles when the adventures get to the dragons lair.

@sndgamer
I made the plot with the help of many people.

Second part of the plot;

The Adventures beat the other two adventures(Pathfinder group and Queens search party) to the dragon den and talk the neutral good dragon into releasing the Mendev sword artifact. The party is good aligned which helps with the dragon releasing the sword but also the dragon has a blight and a stolen wyrmling. The dragon can't figure out why she has a blight?

The party takes the intelligent Mendev sword to the queen and the next day they find out when called before the queen a second time that the sword is a FAKE. The dragon was unaware of this (why the Lich stole the wyrmling) sword being a fake. The group is threatened with their hands being cut off but eventually thrown in prison. The quest now changes with the group being released with the Lore Master ( Librarian) helping the adventurers determine who made the fake sword, why, and for what purpose? The group needs to find the real sword or face life imprisonment. They will uncover the former dead kings mistress hired by the Lich to poison the king. This mistress (assassin) has regretted her action over the past 15 years and left her guild and retired. She will eventually guide them to the general area of the Lich and her son ( the only person with Mendev royal blood who can use the real sword) will join the party to help them find the real sword. The party will also have to revisit the dragon to gather more info on how to use the sword. How fun will it be to tell a dragon you "stiffed" us with a fake item?
You also have the bully from the party's original first encounter showing up from time to time to harass the group and will be in the final epic battle with the Lich.. What is the Lich trying to do? Kill off the only real threat to him which is the dragons with a epic spell that causes the slow death of the dragons, while the dragons lose their powers. He then turns the dead dragons into dracolichs. He is using the Mendev swords magical powers as the catalyst to fuel is spell. The only way to stop this spell is the fresh blood of four core races ( small amount of blood), Heal spell, Mendev royalty and a good aligned, cleric or paladin, knowledge religion 8 ranks. There is a lot more details but this is a good summary! It all starts tomorrow night!

Very cool town setup, monkplayer! I'm working on my own buildings and new accessories at the moment and pictures like this really keep me going instead of just seeing on much still needs to be painted. Thank you for sharing, very inspirational! :)

Here are some updated pictures of the last couple of gaming sessions which include the first session. I'm not sure how the photos got jumbled around after saving them?

The FIRST and THIRD PHOTOS are of the gaming group looking at the town of Terotyn set in Pathfinder's Inner Sea World country of Mendev. They are getting their first look at one of my miniature set-ups before the gaming starts.

THE SEVENTH photo is the adventures discovering the dead queen's archaeologist after killing all the goblins in their cavern hide-out. (See my story outline below for more information). NOTICE the hidden log book that is below the adventurer"s body in the crack of the floor. The actual epic adventure is now starting witht he discovery of the log book!

REMAINING PHOTOS are of the player's attempting to decipher the TWO different codes and handwriting inside the log book. The players, especially the player at the end of my table, quickly broke the first code (queen's archaeologist) but still need to break the newest code in the log book (Pathfinder Society adventurer who found the queen's adventurer).
