Painter's Block. Need Help?!?! 9 Years, 9 Months ago
I am currently working on the miniature below. I have hit a painter's block. I cannot decide on a hair color for this poor buy. I was thinking 'orange/red/aubun', (you know, like the flames of a furnace?), but I just can't decide. Can anyone help? At all?

Thanks, in advance.

I have that guy! That whole set of figs is fantastic.

Anyhoo, here's my vote. I vote against reddish brown, simply because of the tree. Sure, some people will tell ya that there's a nice balance to the figure, with brown at the top and the bottom, and they may be right, but I don't like that kinda thing. I think the way to go is the opposite -- either light blonde yellow hair (which will work really well, esp. once you weather up that smock with an inkwash, which I'm assuming you're going to do) or white hair.

I was originally thinking light blonde hair because the yellow would contrast well with the browns and greenish-yellow on the outfit. But if you squint looking at these pics, the hair looks white, and that looks good too. He looks like a really buff Santa. ;)

I also vote against the reddish brown hair bc that's what I did with mine, and I was really disappointed with how it came out.
