This is a brilliant idea!

I find it especially useful when you want to pre-assemble an elaborate DF setup in advance so as not to kill momentum during gameplay. I will probably imitate you in the following weeks but with boards painted black to save the battlemat costs and because I would want these boards to representing nothing but emptiness.

A short translation for french-challenged people:

Tom made six small wooden boards that he covered with cut-to-size green GW battlemats. He's using them to move medium-size DF setups as needed time-wise on his gaming table.

Cool looking setups as always.

I do like the idea of movable bases to swap out smaller setups. At my game table, we just send the smokers outside while we do the swap, LOL.

Great idea with the wooden boards! And I especially really like the board with the ruins. Looks really cool! :)
