The Attack on the Inn 1 Year, 10 Months ago
Hello my friends! :)
Although I'm a vivid addict of...no, we use the word "collector", right? ;) OK, let's start again: Although I'm a vivid collector of Dwarven Forge sets I never owned anything from the Medieval Building line. That finally changed this year and this is my first setup with these sets. I especially like the possibility of building octagonal rooms in a setup like the kitchen in this one. I used 2 MBSs and 1 Expansion Set for the main building and I'm very happy what can be done with these 3 sets. :)

I too have yet to get Medieval Building sets but they are near the top of my list. Seeing this just may move them to the top. Great job Kronos! Your painting skills always impress me. Superb job. I especially like the shadind on the white apron worn by the gal with two kids. Top notch.

I just realized which miniature you meant. That one was a birthday present and was painted by one of my friends. I will pass on the compliment to her. :)

Great stuff! The MBA line is one of my favorites. I want to buy 1 more MBA set and the expansion set.

Is that dollhouse food that you are using? I often look at that stuff on ebay but I am never sure about the sizes.

I wish they would come out with another expansion set for the MBA line. It could include a mill wheel, floor with a trap door, floor with stairs going down (like in the classic line), led torch walls and fireplace...

Thank you jericho! :)

Is that dollhouse food that you are using? I often look at that stuff on ebay but I am never sure about the sizes.
Yes, the wooden plates and bowls, the bread and the pie are from a dollhouse online shop as well as some other stuff. The plates and bowls work well in 28mm-32mm but the cups and mugs are a tad too big. It still works but could be better. The bread and the pie are way too big but work in a fantasy setting where small and large creatures want to eat too. And on second thought, a pie can never be too big, can it? ;)
But it's really difficult to find a dollhouse shop with stuff that works in this scale. Most don't. But since shops like Thomarillion carry a lot of small accessories it's not that necessary anymore to browse through dollhose shops. A Tavern Accessories Set II from Dwarven Forge would still be awesome though. ;)

I wish they would come out with another expansion set for the MBA line. It could include a mill wheel, floor with a trap door, floor with stairs going down (like in the classic line), led torch walls and fireplace...
A floor with stairs going down is hidden under the removable floor hatch:

Another MBS would be awesome. One can dream. :)

Thank you Tom! :)

Is it you the painter?
I painted most of them. Some were gifts which were painted by some of my friends as birthday presents. And a few were bought painted from ebay where I just did a little extra work on or were painted as a commission for me. I give out painting commissions for some miniatures from time to time when work is so time consuming that painting myself is impossible.
In these images are also a lot of my old miniatures which were painted 5+ years ago. For me it's really interesting to see my changes in painting technique over the years. Right now I'm dipping my toe in painting with an airbrush and that has it's own difficulties but it's a fun journey. :)
