Hi everybody! First Setup! 2 Years, 2 Months ago
Hi, all.

This is my first post on the board, reason being I got my first two sets of Dwarven Forge yesterday! :D

I´ve been building my own stuff, based on Hirst Art, and the best thing is that DF match up great!
:)
Already planning my next shopping list, so I guess im hooked as everybody else.

The only negative thing I´ve experienced is "bent" large corridor pieces that wont match up well at all, measured 3-4mm space between the pieces when tiled. :(
So Ill wont be using them if I cant figure out how to fix that.
Anyone got an idea how to straighten them?

But overall Im very happy with my Dwarven Forge, but I need moore sets.^^ :)

Also would like to thank Thod for great service here in EU.
:)
Shipping to Sweden went smooth and fast.

Now Im of to build some dungeons and make WFRP come alive!

Some pics of my first set up with 2 sets of classic dungeons and my home made dungeon.

I'm sad to hear about another DF set with a damaged/warped piece.

Nice blending of the HA & DF! I also like the lava pit/bridge piece and think perhaps this may hint at some Hellscape terrain deep below?

I have always excepted the not-perfect match-up of all tiles & pieces as part and parcel to the *crafting* of Dwarven Forge. I imagine HA crafting results in some variety in pieces as well, especially if resin is being used on large pieces?

I know some people take umbrage at a non-prefect product, but I haven't been bothered by the open water tile discoloring. Maybe I'm in the minority?

Actually Im not that concerned either, but 3mm of, say tree large pieces in row makes a total of 1cm difference.
But as I said, I will prolly fix them somehow. :)

Also found out that I miss the one piece "secret door" of the room set.
Instead I got a extra corner piece.
Does not concern me either as I got an extra corner instead.

I think ill be getting less corridor sets and more room set, as the small pieces makes the dungeons more modular imo.

But I think DF should be aware of these small "bugs", otherwise it wont be addressed and perhaps it will result in disappontment for customers?

But on the contrary for me, Im VERY pleased with DF. :)
Already planning to expand my collection.
I really like the look of the woodland set and I got to have more basic room sets!!! :D

Any tips in what to buy next to make it even more modular??

You are spot on about room sets being more modular, though i DO like a nice long corridor now and again :)

I would say besides more room sets, the ABS 1& 2 sets really help to make things more modular. They have all kinds of different pi3ces that make the basic Room & Room & Passage sets MUCH more versatile.

I've never bothered, but I know that Stefan & Jeff will replace any piece you are not happy with no questions asked.

Nice work Tom!
Is the bridge made out of wood?

Welcome to the board, icon! ...and nice setup!

One thing you should know about the Woodland Set before you buy it (mostly if 3mm spaces between pieces matter to you a lot) is that this Set has an issue. Sometimes, big pieces of resin do warp a little. It's hard to deal with it, that's how resin reacts while curing. But, the extremely beautiful Woodland Set pieces sculpted by Sandra Garrity have a few "flaws" built into them. Although all the pieces are relatively small in this Set (no "warping" effect), the foliage from the walls of some pieces protrude into the area of adjacent pieces. This would leave a lot of gaps if someone were to make a maze with the Woodland Set. Thankfully, the Woodland Set is more designed to be used for relatively small woodland houses where the foliage would protrude on the outside of a relatively small setup.
