Fun layout of DF. Thank you for posting these pictures. I love seeing how players are using each set.

How many of each set did you use to build this dungeon?

Thank you. I am afraid i didn't keep an exact list, but
there are the majority of;

4 room and passage sets.
1 short corridor set
2 room sets,
1 delux room set
1 octagonal room set
1 6x6 floor set
2 ADVB1
1 ADVB2
2 Fantasy Floor Sets

4 cavernous passage sets
4 cavernous caves sets
2 cavernous river sets.

Off the top of my head.. I didn't quite use everything from those sets or all of my sets.

There are some items like the treasure pieces and some curtains from Psomminiatures too.. the accessories were by pegasus, ainsty casting, irregular miniatures.. unfortunately I planned to paint a lot more accessories for the game but time was against me and they are sitting still undercoated waiting to be painted.

Figures of course are D&D miniature prepainted plastics.

thanks for the list of building sets to make this. I was wondering how many of the caverns sets I would need to build a set up like this so thanks.

Very cool setup! Doubly so since it is at a con! Did you transport the sets in the original boxes or something else?
Looks like the setup got a lot of good use, well done!

Re:Photos of my large layout at Gauntlet Show! 1 Year, 11 Months ago
Thanks guys. The cavern and cavernous passage sets cover a good size area.
I did not use every single piece from the sets. They were probably the easiest to put out too, as they are pretty large and so cover an area quickly. They are still some of my favourite sets out the ranges.

Transport wise, I had 6 of the "20ltr Really Useful Boxes", as suggested elsewhere on this forum. They are pretty good for transporting. Unfortunately the rush to pack the sets away, and time etc, as I was also educating a 40k tournament, meant all the sets went back in a rush and so my careful planning of what went where, has gone to pot! And i have to, at some stage, dig them all out and re-sort them into their correct sets..

Some fo the sets were still in their original boxes and I plan to get more of the 20ltr boxes, as they are easier to store and stack. :)

But this setup did constite around 80% of my collection in use in one go and certainly the largest layout i have done. The two days of the show, meant it was worth the effort and my players had a great time.

We used a very simple and hacked down version DnD 3rd Edition. Just to speed up play a little.

Awesome! thanks for posting! I see you had some of our really early incarnations of DF...back when we had bow tie openings that really stood out because of the darkness inside of the opening....after we saw that, I ordered all the openings to be painted in a lighter color than the rest of the stone, so they would blend in better....and finaly, we just eliminated them all together!

Thanks Stefan, though really I feel I should be thanking you, as without your idea and skill.. we wouldn't be able to enjoy your creations.

As for age. Yes, some of my sets are very old.. lol..
I started collecting about eleven years ago, but some of my sets are second hand ones I have also picked up that pre-date my original purchases.

Its interesting to see how the the paint shades have also changed over the years. Not by a lot, but you do notice if you look carefully.

I was debating the option of filling in all the bow-tie connectors but given the number of sets I have..and the fact I don't find them too bad for now they can wait.. lol.
