A gelatinous cube can really ruin your day! 2 Years, 3 Months ago
Seeing Biowizard's blue gelatinous cube got me thinking of where a blue cube might come from. So, after receiving mine, I give you the following possible explanation.

After countless hours getting past deadly traps, the pair of thieves finally make it into the treasure vault. Cautiously approaching, they find themselves suddenly cut off from the entrance by a giant block of stone dropped from the ceiling and the appearance of some kind of magical energy field blocking the entrance to the vault. Without warning, something emerges from the arcane vortex, a blue cube, pulsing with the same violent energies from which it sprang. The first thief is utterly consumed, his screams ringing in the chamber. Facing certain death, his companion realizes that they missed the final trap..

Thanks, Biowizard!

Oh, but what unique powers does a blue cube have? I think each color should have some unique abilities ;).

Either that, or maybe the blue cube has eaten way to much blue frosting on a b-day cake hehe.

I love the stair section and the passage extender. That looks
cool and for some reason I have never used it like that.

Your cube looks great in action!

I especially like the shot where the thief has nowhere to go... ;-) mouahaha
There is absolutely no space for the thief to squeeze in between the cube and the walls. Looks like this cube was well sculpted... wink-wink.

Poetic justice for the rogue I say. By the way speaking of that particular miniature reminds me of the very same within my own collection..

I want to say his provenance lies with DragonStrike (TSR 1993) if I am not mistaken? -composed entirely of purple resin??

A romantic piece altogether. :-)

Very observant!! I actually got my set (the blue dragonstrike minis) in the DnD Introductory box from around that same time. I think I bought it around '95. TSR recycled some of the Dragonstrike minis for that set. Some of my earliest painted minis came from that purchase.

Gelatinous cubes are so silly but I like them very much! The setup looks cool, you can almost feel the thieves fear. :)
