The Inner Courtyard 2 Years, 7 Months ago
Hello my friends, it has been too long! Work has kept me terribly busy but I'm taking few days off work this week and I've finally finished the editing of my shots from January's game session. Pictures from February's and March's game session will follow shortly (I hope). :)

Truly inspiring. This makes me want to break out all my sets and play. Is that a felt HotzMat?

Again, truly kick ass!

Edit: Also, how do you take pictures so well? My wife is a wedding photographer and has good equipment but she really doesn't know how to do close-up stuff of small things. Also, where did you get the zombie miniatures?

Edit: Ha ha I can't stop. How did you make the paintings?

Thank you jericho! :)

Is that a felt HotzMat?
Yes, they are awesome! :)

Also, how do you take pictures so well? My wife is a wedding photographer and has good equipment but she really doesn't know how to do close-up stuff of small things.
The method I'm using is actually not really different from shooting portraits. I'm using a Canon 5d Mark II with a 50mm lens. So no equipment specifically for for these shots, just my standard lens for portraits. Since all my game shots don't require a print resolution because they are intended for Internet publications I can crop the images in the postprocessing and don't mind the lower resolution of the image.

Also, where did you get the zombie miniatures?
They are from Mantic Games (and are absolutely great, the best walkers I have ever seen).

How did you make the paintings?
I bought the frames from a dollhouse manufacturer and printed the pictures on cardboard which I glued into the frame. :)

Excellent work Kronos! But that is normal for you. I am still envious of your Thomarillon cages. I haven't been able to find any. I noticed you have some of the PMC roofs. You should send a couple of these pics to Martin so he can see his creations in action! Maybe that may inspire him to make more DF sizes for us.
Again, top notch setups, painting, and photography!

Kronos, your setup is stunning! After viewing the Inner Courtyard I followed the link to your blog and looked through all the Battle Reports. You masterfully demonstrate how accessories can bring a dungeon to life. Thanks for the pics, they're a great inspiration for a new DF collector.

As reference for a newbie, how many DF sets does it take to build something like the Inner Courtyard or The Temple of Ba’al (my personal favorite from you blog)?

Thank you Arcarius2001, Feymous and Pusherman! :)

Thank you! I'm very happy about that because I always feel so inspired after seeing the setups of others and sometimes I just love browsing through the forum to be amazed by the awesome setups posted here. To know my setups are part of the circle of inspiration is absolutely great. :)

As reference for a newbie, how many DF sets does it take to build something like the Inner Courtyard or The Temple of Ba’al (my personal favorite from you blog)?
This is difficult to answer because I don't store my older sets in the original boxes but I will try to be as accurate as possible.

I used the following sets for The Inner Courtyard:

1x Octagonal Room Set
5x (or more) Room Sets
1x Fantasy Floor Set
2x Ruins Sets
2x Wicked Addition Set #1
3x Wicked Addition Set #2
1x Advanced Builder Set
1x Narrow Passage Set
1x Den of Evil Room Sets
1x Den of Evil Wicked Addition Set

For some sets I just used a few part like for example I had 3 Mermaid Fountains in this setup but I did not use 3 complete Wicked Addition Sets#2 or I just used a few Accessories from the Den of Evil sets. But I think I listed every set I used something from.

I used the following sets for the Temple of Ba’al:

2x Den of Evil Room Sets
2x Den of Evil Wicked Additions Sets
1x Narrow Passage Set
4 or 5 Room Sets (maybe more?)
2x Octagonal Room Sets
1x Advanced Builder Set
1x Fantasy Floor Set
Several Wicked Additions #1 Sets
Several Wicked Additions #2 Sets
1x Short Passages Set
1x Set of arrow loop passages
2x or 3x Red pillars Sets

I think that must be all but I can give no guarantees. ;)
