I was putting together a basic classic dungeon when I ran out of floor pieces (at least, ones that I hadn't left in storage). I noticed I had one river curve piece out, and even though it wouldn't connect properly with anything -- as the only water piece -- I decided to use it anyway. The end result was actually pretty cool, IMO. The water goes up to a prison gate making a kind of "island prison" look, which I really like. And the way the spiral stair is placed makes it feel like a dungeon carved into a natural cavern by dwarves who are either brilliant engineers working with nature, or just haven't finished it yet.

Enjoy!

That looks great! I will be shamelessly stealing integrating this idea in a dungeon once my Rivers & Walls set comes in April. :)

That looks teriffic! I think it captures the incomplete/deteriorated nature of a dangerous underground lair. I think perhaps a piece from the ruins set would go well here to help illustrate that there was some damage done, either naturally or from something more sinister...

Dwarven Forge dungeons do tend to be quite dry, don't they? That ads quite a bit of character to the scene. In years past I would have dreams of expansive concrete underworlds filled with water (but not sewage.)

I like the Olley Dwarves. I got 4 of those and did a hatchet job + putty on both to make them each unique(see my tumblr.) Hoping to get them painted this spring.
