ORCS!

Man, I have just been on such an old-school D&D kick lately. So here are some somewhat old school Reaper orcs -- not quite 1st edition since they aren't pig-faced, but still very basic orcs. Dwarven Forge just cries out for a tribe of these guys, and I painted mine up to keep them compatible with the DF orc tribes (which are more elaborately outfitted than these savages).

I just have a swarm of them moving from a cavern into a dungeon that's been built into the earth. There are fouler things than orcs in the deep places of the world, but there are also orcs, which, hey, is also kinda worth watching out for.

Enjoy!

Eventually, the denizens attempted to fortify the dungeon, but the walls they built in the caverns were broken down again and again by marauding orcs....

Nice orcs! errr, I mean, vile orcs!

Your pictures also show how nice sets go together. You have caverns in the back ground, with ruins providing access from the main dungeon where you also have the jail pieces (WA3?).

Although I am envious of the big layouts we are shown by the people with 30+ sets, I like when I see pieces that form fun, creative little layouts that could be formed from limited sets.

Thanks! Yeah, those large layouts are fun, but when I was first starting in this hobby, I only had a couple of DF sets and I managed to spend hours arranging different layouts with them. You don't need a ton of space.

Here's an overhead shot of the combo I used for the orc pics -- basic dungeon set, ruin set, WA3, and some cavern pieces.

I really wanted just to focus on the crumbling wall for the pics, so this was never meant to be a high quality layout. Still, I think it's neat all the same.
