Traditional dungeon (with pre-painted Reaper figs) 2 Years, 6 Months ago
I have really been enjoying using the dungeon pieces lately, it feels like it's been YEARS since they've been the focus of my attention. Between the lake and river and chasm and MBS and ROTA and everything else... but the dungeon stuff is what started it all, and it's phenomenal.

So I put together a very traditional dungeon -- little wizard study, little storage rooms, some prison cells, a little courtyard. I found a way to use the windows from WA3 in an underground setting, by just using the little alcove pieces on the other side so they look more like an architectural flourish and less like a window.

I only remembered the pre-painted Reapers I just picked up after I started, so those pics aren't in this first post...

...aaand the Reaper figures. I only remembered these after it was getting dark, so the lighting in these shots is more "atmospheric." Though I have to admit, I LOVE pics of the dungeon setting in this kind of lighting. The oblique lighting sets off the little details, and it just feels more appropriate to a dungeon.

In any case, for those who missed my post in the Gaming section, I have recently picked up some pre-painted Reaper minis, and I really like them. Are they perfect? Of course not. The eyes on the dwarf, the teeth on the goblin, etc. are all a bit sloppy and the level of detail generally is far worse than what you get with a really well painted mini. But for people who don't want to paint, these look great, and I love getting away from those awkward huge DDM bases. The little mice are probably my favorites -- they add so much flavor to a scene, and you get three in a package. They look awesome.

Yes, I enjoy these quite a bit as well. I only wish they would continue to produce new figures for this line. I think it has been over a year since we've gotten anything new. Thankfully Pathfinder Battles prepainted miniatures are here to fill some of the gaps!

Nice "classic feel" dungeon as well. Awesome bookshelves!
